Q: This is 20 inches really boring depth?

I don't know about this one because I own several sizes and styles but usually they are only 14 inches. Would have to drill down about 10 inches, break the core plug and pull out and then add a 6 inch extension to the drill to get the 20 inch depth.

Q: What is the diamond grit

You are probably talking about diamond bit, which is the hard cutting teeth at the bottom of the core drill bit. It's best to always buy diamond bits if you are drilling into concrete or rock.
