Big enough to eliminate the extra gestures needed to dump handfuls of cut food into a separate bowl or plate. Stable during use - but only after increasing friction through regular use to rough up the surface (it did slide around a little when brand new because it was so smooth). Washes by hand easily. Doesn't punish me for not washing it immediately like wood or bamboo. Tolerates water better than wood or bamboo. Tolerates heat better than other, inferior plastics. I love to cook but I'm all about efficiency, reducing barriers to cooking (mental and physical), cutting back on dishes, and limiting sensory chaos on my limited counter space - this checks all those boxes. If you're as dish-averse as me, or living in a very dish-averse household like me, hear my story: cute, sturdy bamboo or wood cutting boards don't work for us. They become biohazards that get left out or in the sink to absorb water and eventually mold and stain over time.
