To call this gadget a "survival tool" or "camping axe" is a stretch. It is actually a serious toy for an 11-year-old. The axe part is good for beating twigs and such but won't cut down any saplings for a fire! The hammerhead - well light enough to break pepples, and the screwdriver parts - well, it's hard to find screws in a survival situation. But I bought it for an 11-year-old boy to bang around with it on our acreage so I wasn't disappointed. It will interest him to no end and he will see it as a "survival tool" when 50 m from our house.

This is a gift for a friend so I never opened it to check for sturdiness, or I might wreck the flap on the box, but the box is pretty small. I was taken back. Big things better come in small packages, is all I can say. If you're looking for compact this is likely a great gift. I'll give it anyway but with a twinge of embarrassment. I really hope I'm wrong and it's great. Read other reviews to know for sure.

Gifted this to my father in law. Handy to have when camping, but not as sturdy as other ones I've purchased. This item is pretty good for its price though.

Was no where near what I wanted or needed this was only a novelty as it was way to small and a little on the flimsy side I would not trust it for what I wanted it for
