It is not charge. You have to insert two AA batteries to operate the bell. Depending on the frequency of usage, the batteries would run out in 3 to 4 weeks.

Door key unit damaged, can i get it or will have to buy whole unit?

Key unit is available seprately in any lock selling shop. Take your lock if you can and show them or picture in your phone.

Can a rechargeable battery be provided with the remote of this call bell? How to get extra battery for use when the existing battery is exhausted?

Buy AA batteries from the market.

Is it possible to turn off the door bell or mute it ?
