tight fit; put the keyboard last. Great for use on the lap.
The Twelve South MacBridge version I received in November 2023 has a new radius in the corners that matches the rounder curves of the latest generation Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad. No gaps in the outer corners as previous reviews of earlier versions have shown. The MacBridge I received is a very snug fit for the current Magic Keyboard and Trackpad. I would say it's an exact, or perfect fit, but some might feel it's too tight. Almost imperceptibly narrow tabs pop over the top and bottom edges of the keyboard and trackpad, which in addition to the exacting fit means they become a unit. I recommend the MacBridge as something to install and leave in place. I don't recommend it if you plan to sometimes use the MacBridge and sometimes use the keyboard and trackpad separately--putting them in and taking them out is something you'll prefer to do infrequently. I like how snug it is because the keyboard and pad don't fall out if you hold it upside down, even if you shake it, and allows you to treat the MacBridge as a single unit. You can pick it up with one hand and carry it around. Any way you hold it or set it down, it stays integrated and secure. I got this mainly to use keyboard and trackpad on the lap after having elevated the Mac to reduce hunching the shoulders and looking down. Using it casually on the lap while sitting on the couch means you move the thing around a lot. The MacBridge is a big improvement compared to separate accessories that slide off the lap or fall between couch cushions. It's easier, more stable, less fiddly, and probably safer than having them separate. The white MacBridge looks like design from Apple and nothing about it seems like a kluge. Polycarbonate is known to be a strong plastic so presumably this will hold up well. It's slightly made--lightweight and thin gauge--which is good because it adds only about 155grams, but also might seem there is not a lot you're getting for $33. However, it's clearly well-engineered--that perfect fit--and has gone through iterations that keep it up to date. An un-expected advantage of using the MacBridge is that the Magic Trackpad's edge-to-edge function means whenever you pick it up by the edges or corner you activate the click and something happens on screen. This isn't an issue when sitting on a desktop but it makes it tricky to use on the lap; MacBridge solves this problem by surrounding the trackpad edges with just enough material to make it easy to handle without creating stray clicks. Install tip: Install the trackpad first as it fits slightly more deeply into the MagicBridge and it's difficult to fit the trackpad's thicker multi-layer top past the aluminum keyboard body if you installed the keyboard first. Whereas, the Keyboard can be installed relatively more easily with the trackpad already in. Still not easy, but relatively easier. The included keyboard-shaped grey pad is a spacer that allows the keyboard's aluminum surface to sit at even height with the trackpad surface. The trackpad turns out to be slightly thicker than the keyboard body and the pad lets them sit evenly edge to edge.

Nice gadget to keep you organized!
Nice tool to keep your magic keyboard and trackpad together. I had the previous version of keyboard and trackpad and the only downsize is that this new connector is made of plastic instead of some other better material (aluminum maybe? to keep up with the Apple Style?) like the one I still have to keep the old ones together.... Besides that everything works great!

It squeezes the bottom down so CLICKING DOESN'T WORK on the entire bottom half(where your thumb is)
I don't know how people aren't complaining about the fact that the tab holding it in is pushing down on the very top of the trackpad which makes it extremely inconsistent and harder to click with your thumb on the bottom half. Like when you click and drag you have to use the top so your thumb can get it to click because this case is keeping it pressed down to hold it in. Dumb design to press on the track pad to hold it in. I guess Ill order one of the metal ones that use tape. I tried it left and right handed and even up side down but no matter what it interferes with the clicking function. Its driving me nuts! While gently taking them back out the little plastic that bridges over the holes on the top completely shattered out into 3 pieces like it was weak clay. lol. So now the whole thing has no rigidity and flops. what a joke!! Hot glue to some paint stirring sticks would be a huge improvement over this flimsy brittle plastic trackpad depressor! lol!

Seems a downgrade from the original MagicBridge.
I recently purchased the TwelveSouth Magic Keyboard with the built-in battery holder. However, I find it less engineered than the original MagicBridge. The new trackpad glass doesn’t move when clicked, but it scrapes and sounds during assembly. TwelveSouth discontinued this product, likely due to the underthought-out design for Apple’s updated Magic line. Despite this, I’m keeping mine as it’s a nifty idea that has always been. If I weren’t a diehard TwelveSouth fan, I’d consider other similar products on the market. They make good products and have good people, so I stick with them. Note that this product is no longer available on their website. If Amazon is out of stock, it’s refundable and try another retailer.

All in all I am satisfied with this purchase as it solved my problem of constantly adjusting my keyboard and trackpad. This makes it so easy to pick the unit up and move it temporarily out of the way. The devices sit solidly in the tray yet removal of the keyboard or trackpad is quite easy. This is a well thought out tray as the keyboard and trackpad can go on either side, a real plus for lefties. Also the cutouts on the back are positioned so that you have easy access to the on/off switch as well as the charging port, so you might well never have to remove the devices from the tray. While this seems expensive for a piece of molded plastic, I guess the market is not large so the price point is a bit higher than it would be if one could sell a million of these a month. If you think you have a need for this tray, it will not dissapoint.

Way overpriced, trackpad does not fit, but still it holds them together
Entrepreneurs, you could do better than this for a much better price, and still get rich. There does not seem to be many alternatives to this product in the market. My trackpad (yes the latest from Apple) did not fit entirely. The front is popped up a bit. Maybe for the best, though, as people complain about it no functioning well when it fits in entirely. Both my keyboard and trackpad functions fine. They are kept together, and charger port as well as power buttons are accessible. So after all, I'll keep it just because it kind of works, and I can't find anything else that is better. But the price is ridiculous for a product that can't fit the items comfortably and thoroughly without beeing too tight for both of them.

works as advertised
Wonderful product. Exceeded expectations. Can be a bit snug to remove but it's secure enough that the keyboard and trackpad doesn't rattle or fall out. A bit pricey, could be more affordable.
