Awesome quality green coffee beans for the home roaster.
We love coffee. We have been buying coffee from all over the world for several years. After watching several videos on roasting your own coffee we decided to take the plunge and purchase bulk green coffee beans. Although it takes a little practice to get the roasting part squared away the final product is some of the best, freshest coffee I have tasted. The green coffee beans store for a lifetime unlike already roasted coffee that begins to decline in quality almost before it makes to the store. After roasting and drinking several pounds of home roasted coffee the difference it very apparent. I have roasted these beans for friends, family and co workers and they all have enjoyed the flavor of fresh roasted coffee. If you love quality coffee and don't mind a little work to get it than you cannot go wrong with Expo Cafe green coffee beans. We have tried the Ethiopian, the Columbia and will be making another order for more soon. I shared some pictures of green coffee before and after roasting.

Great aroma and flavor
So far I have done a dark roast and a medium roast coffee with these green Columbia Coffee beans. Both have turned out really well. The burlap bag I got had a hole in it and was worthless to hold green beans. I tossed it. This was a good value but was disappointed in the burlap bag.

Very long shelf life before roasting .
I bought a 5 lb. bag of this over six years ago . I roasted it in very small batches using a hot air popcorn popper . This coffee was very robust ( roasted dark ) and delicious . About a pound never got roasted . I wrapped it tightly and put it in the back of a cupboard . I forgot about it until recently ( it's been over 6 years now ) . So I roasted it up using the same method . It tasted just as good as the day I bought it . Since it keeps so well , I'm going to buy more . I like this brand of coffee ./

Excellent cup of coffee
I ordered 5 Pounds Colombia Excelso at a great price. Today, I roasted a 1/2 pound of that coffee in a stovetop stainless popper. The beans smelled fresh right from the start. I took the roast to the middle of the 2nd crack and poured them out to cool still cracking. After cooling the beans off for about 10 minutes I ground them fine in a Vitamix. Made an cup of coffee with one spoon of sugar and a dash of light cream, and sat down to write this review. Very pleased with my order.

Excelsa, not Arabica?
There are four (4) species of coffee which can be used to prepare a coffee beverage: Arabica, Robusta, Excelsa, and Liberica. This bean is listed as Arabica but tastes like Excelsa, and "Excelsa" is what it says on the sack. Why did the seller call it "Arabica"? This is misleading. Now, Excelsa coffee tends to have a different taste from Arabica, as well as lower caffeine content. The taste, of course, is affected by the way it has been roasted (among other factors). I tried different roasts (from medium to very dark), and neither was particularly appealing to me. Elsewhere (Heirloom Coffee) I read a suggestion for a mix of Excelsa with other species for a well rounded coffee; I tried it, was not repulsed by it, but was not particularly enamored with it either. So this is just my personal experience, your mileage may vary, but keep in mind it is not your regular Arabica coffee.
