Five Star Tape. 5* Green and 5* Performance. Great Tape.
I really like this GTSE Brown Paper Tape.Indeed I can honestly say it is the best packing tape I have ever handled (and this from a seller on Amazon for eleven years)Firstly the tape is great quality. It sticks to the cardboard or container first time every time.Because it is thicker and better quality that the thin plastic stuff it unrolls well and does not bunch up.I use a commercial roller dispenser and it has been the easiest tape that I have ever used to fix in place and to use with the roller. It cuts cleanly and evenly. Now this saves you hours in time because you are constantly not having to reposition, re-stick and ultimately create less mess as well as using less tape. This ;lack of waste adds to the Green credentials which are excellent and why I love this tape so much. For the tape is fully recyclable and biodegradable. This means you can (and should) easily recycle either in the Brown bin or on your compost heap shredded up:The tape is GTSE Brown Kraft Paper Tape and packaging is made from 100% recyclable material. The specs are 48mm wide and a long, long 50m long. That's 150 metres of quality tape in the three pack,These green credentials may be excellent but the tape actually seems to perform much better than the plastic stuff in my dispensing machine.A win win situation.100% fully recommended.

Gentle adhesive!
Having grown up with, and used extensively, brown gummed tape, I have never liked the now ubiquitous acrylic tape for numerous reasons. So a paper tape ready gummed has to be good, and this is good tape, strong and easy to work with. However, I cannot describe the adhesive as strong. It is effective and serves its purpose, but even when we’ll pressed down it remains easily removable, even after several days. In that respect it behaves more like masking tape. I still like it despite that!

Stick it!
I’ve used paper based tape for some time now, the plastic stuff is good but I just feel like it’s a frivolous use of disposable plastic and can render otherwise recyclable items difficult to recyle. The tape is strong, it’s easy to tear without scissors but it isn’t weak. Once applied it holds well and you can write on it. The narrow tape is the same width as normal sticky tape and I a great direct replacement for it. Obviously it’s not transparent and it can look a little odd on regular wrapping paper. But if you switch to recyclable wrapping paper (typically brown paper with a nice print) then it looks really nice. The thicker paper is great for parcels etc. I’ve used it on packages where I used to use gaffer tape. The main issue with brown paper tape is the cost, it’s so much more expensive than plastic sticky tape. The truth is that plastic is a fantastic material; it’s easy to make in bulk, it’s cheap to make, and it lasts pretty much forever. Sadly for those three reasons, it may sit on a gift for a few days and then spend a couple of centuries littering the environment somewhere and I personally feel much better using paper based tape.In a nutshell: A superb tape with many uses, buying in multipacks will help reduce the financial cost, and buying this has a much better environmental cost than plastic tape.

One layer only...
This tape feels lovely, looks stylish on parcels and is easy to use....however it will only stick to paper, not to itself, so if you need to overlap your tape at all you have to go back to plastic tape for that. Pretty useless really.
