My husband's review. I'm a manufacturing engineer and I see the value in this type of project for children. I bought this for my son, 4, and was hoping he could put it together, but it's very intricate in a lot of ways with having to assemble the nuts to screws in very tight places. He could help with some of the basic and bigger items for assembly, but for the most part I had to do the entire thing for him. Pay attention to the age recommendation. It's near impossible for a 4 year old, but for an 8 year old, it's probably not too bad. He does love playing with it but once assembled, you certainly don't want to tear it down to build something different because it does take a while to build just one version, but it's a good idea that multiple vehicles can be built from the kit.

I bought this for my 7 yr old son for his birthday. It's a great project for a father and son, but the pieces nuts are tiny. It is difficult to control them when you are trying to tighten them. We finally got it together, but it proved more frustrating than I had anticipated.
