Gripping horror non-fiction about corrupt NHS management
I've read 'Whistle in the wind' and 'Smoke and Mirrors' in 2 days, one after the other. Once I started the first, I could not stop - reading the latter right away after finishing the first. It's gripping and heart-breaking true stories of a prominent senior NHS surgeon whose career and life have been destroyed by corrupt, incompetent, evil NHS managers and the infamous 3 Asian surgeons (as they are known locally) who use their race as shield and weapon to their advantage shamelessly - unfortunately, I have experienced this far too often at my work in the NHS as a doctor. Mr Duffy is spot on - 'you are guilty until proven guilty' in faked allegations of racism. Everything Mr Duffy wrote in his books ring so true to me as a fellow NHS consultant - I have experienced, directly and indirectly, very similar corruption, breakdown of relationships, bullying, threats, incompetent consultants, ethnic-minority-staff using their race as shield and weapon, organisational systemic cover-ups, never learning from serious errors, witch-hunting, retaliatory falsified counter-allegations to destroy careers of decent doctors, the list go on.....Those infamous 3 Asian surgeons should have been struck off 2 decades ago. And there should be GMC-equivalent government regulatory body for NHS managers to hold them accountable for their failings. These NHS managers keep failing then move to the next NHS hospital every 1 - 2 years without ever taking responsibility for their corruption, crimes and failings, getting paid millions by taxpayers until they retire. So disgusting.Mr Duffy, I am sure you can crush the corrupt incompetent GMC with your clear evidences (from your ET evidences) of 'the falsified email purported from you' - I believe this was falsified by those 2 evil surgeons A and B.The external report by Niche, in my opinion, is flawed and incorrect on multiple points - how can they claim 2 IT services confirmed there is no evidence of evidential foul play on emails - they did not prove this. I do think Mr Duffy ET is wrong due to the Trust deliberately holding key evidence up from Mr Duffy and the judge - Mr Duffy would have been awarded multi-million pounds without upper limit for unlawful dismissal due to whistle blowing, had the Trust not hiding the key evidences. It's truly evil and criminal act by NHS managers.Congratulations on receiving MBE, Mr Duffy! And I wish you and your family all the very best in the future!

Time for Change - Clear out the perpetrators at Morecambe Bay NHS Trust
The key important fact here is that over the past years more than 500 Urology cases have been identified where actual or potential harm have occurred within Morecambe Bay NHS Trust and the recent enquiry has not addressed whether this was negligence, incompetence or deliberate cover ups by numerous Chairmen, Non Executive Directors, Chief Executives, Medical Directors, Consultants, Directors of Governance, Finance Directors, Patient Liaison Managers within the Trust or even the Commissioners of the Service who are meant to establish and manage safe service levels. This would clearly have continued into the future if one brave Consultant had not stood up to the Trust Management and was eventually forced into "whistle blowing" which cost him his job. In my own case, Morecambe Bay failed to diagnose cancer for over three years despite clear evidence and scans to the contrary. This was then followed up by the Head of Urology failing to complete a mandatory Critical Incident review, the seven week review by PALS was not completed, eventually a Root Cause Analysis was carried out but contrary to NICE regulations it was carried out by staff directly involved in my case, The RCA was so poor and deliberately covered up the true facts, I was told in writing it would be updated - this was never done. A Non-Executive Director was involved and agreed that an independent external review should be carried out and the Trust agreed for this but then Trust Executives blocked it occurring. During the last three years the Trust has delayed, hidden/destroyed documents, deliberately misled me about the causes of failures including at Chairman and Chief Executive Level and I am no further forward in getting to the real truth of the matter. I even offered to fund the investigation myself and once again the Trust refused. It is now time the whole Board and Executive Directors involved resign or are replaced and the police be brought in to carry out a full investigation to establish if the failures are significant enough to bring charges of Failure of duty in a Public Office. While the harm to patients is the most critical issue identified in the recent Niche report, it also identifies an overspend of more than £300k in the Urology Department. At a time of financial issues within the NHS, why has the Financial Director allowed it to occur and then not been held responsible for this failure. Time for Change is now before other patients are harmed

A heartbreaking tale
I have read Peter Duffy's first book and it was never an option not to read this one. The horror of this never ending cycle of abuse against one man is beyond words. This book as with his first is much needed to highlight the correct systems, organisations that we are surrounded by. It highlights the bravery of one man who risked (and is still risking) everything for the those he made a vow to protect. Peter Duffy mentions at the end of his book about the necessity of leaders with a gentle yet moral approach. Those who go above and beyond to try and make the world a bit better, I believe this book highlights one such person. Peter Duffy I admire your bravery, resilience and your ability to still be fighting for the truth to try and force changes at a massive risk to yourself. You for me can be likened to those leaders. The ones we need more of. The 9nes that fight for what is right. You for me are what you stated we need more of. Thank you for telling your story. Thank you for highlighting such corruptions. Everyone should read this book. Change can not be made without having an understanding of what needs to be changed. We all need to do our bit.

As good as Whistle in the Wind
You will need to be made of stern stuff to read this sequel without being affected by its content. Both books are on my kindle but I have also purchased the paperbacks (should be delivered today by Amazon) so my daughter husband and granddaughter can read. Why are whiteboards treated so abysmally? It is shocking. Thank you Peter for writing the books.
