Gifted and Talented Test Preparation: Gifted test prep book for the OLSAT, NNAT2, and COGAT; Workbook for children in preschool and kindergarten

This book is absolutely perfect! I have had a great time going over the pages with my son. He is 8 but has trouble processing information. I found this book to be a perfect way to engage him in activities that stimulate his brain and cause him to think about the answers. Since they no longer bring school books home I am able to use this book to help him focus and engage him in describing why he chose his answers. It truly is a phenomenal tool! This is the second book I have purchased for this purpose by Gateway Gifted Resources and I am always pleased with the books. My son doesn't even realize he is working. He finds it fun and I love watching him think through the questions. The bright pictures hold his attention and there isn't so much reading that he gets bored. The directions are simple and to the point.

I am so happy with this purchase. My son and I worked on this prior to his GT test and he was selected for the GT program at his school. At first, I thought that the questions may be too difficult for him, but they were not, and the directions were easy to follow. The illustrations in the book were great. I would highly recommend this book for your young child. This book helped my son prepare for the test and he was confident going into it because he was prepared. Thank you so much to the authors!

I am so bored of all those books with letters and numbers to trace. This book contains a series of logical games. You’ll be teaching your kid concepts like sequencing and categories. Obviously you’ll need to help them up, if anything to so that they understand the prompt, so if you don’t have the time books aren’t the best medium to have your child learn. Also fun to see how they think. You can learn a lot by seeing your child learn

Book is colorful, made of good quality paper.Everything (directions for the different question types with examples) is explained very well. Questions are pretty challenging at times, which is good. The book comes with 2 practice and one test with answers on the back.The few things I would like to see changed-Have a scantron or something at the end of the book so, kids don’t have to mark on the bubbles on the actual question, and maybe have an additional test. Little pricey but was still worth it.I used it for helping my kid’s prep for their CoGAT (the exam format) and more for road trips to keep them busy outside of puzzles and coloring.

My son is in first grade and we purchased this book to help him study for his GT test. The questions for this test are structured in a way, that if you have never done it before, can be confusing. So this book helps you and the child get used to these types of questions/thinking. My son took the test over the summer and failed it. We purchased this book and studied it. He then took the test again before the beginning of the school year and He passed it! So, I would highly recommend this book.

I really like this book. It is bright and colorful and should be very easy for the child to follow. My K child, also enjoys the workbook, she will go through multiple pages without complaint or prompting. Each 3rd of the book is dedicated to a different test, but the problems are very similar across the test headings, that many should find the whole book useful regardless of which test your district uses. I don't think you can really study up for a gifted test, but you can certainly ensure that your child has a familiarity with the kinds of questions they will see on the test. This book will help with that, which should help with errors that can occur just because what they will see, may be like nothing they've done before. The exposure to similar test questions, in a home environment, should also help with kids that are naturally anxious in test taking situations. Although there is no way to tell if this will have had any impact chiild's score, since this will be her first time being tested, I will update once her scores are in.

Although I’m proud of my son, I’m not trying to brag… if your 4 year old is truly gifted, they’ll breeze through this like my son did within 1-2 days. This workbook was exactly what I needed to feel confident with my son taking the gifted test. I wish this was a bit more rigorous, but it did the job!
