These are so cool. I wasn't sure at first, but I love them so much. The balls are a metal and make a charming sound. I love that they light up, so they are cool to look at in the evening. Very happy with my purchase.

These are very pretty and they stay lit all night long; each ball turns various colors and it's fun to watch at night. Because they are solar-powered, there's no need to hassle with buying, inserting, and replacing batteries. During they day they are pretty, shiny silver balls.However, the manufacturer seems to have a bit of a quality control problem. They are supposed to hang as a mobile -- a single-stranded helix with the ball at the top being on the shortest string, the one after it a bit longer, and each one progressively longer than the one before with the last ball being on the longest string.The first set I received (picture on the right) was a mess -- the balls were kind of bunched together in a couple of groupings with no real mobile pattern. I wrote to the manufacturer and said I liked them but they're not strung correctly and rather than returning to Amazon, I would prefer if they would send me a set that is strung properly. So they sent the next set (picture on the left). This one was better, but still not correct.This should be regulated at the factory that produces them, with each string measured precisely. But it looks like these are just being haphazardly strung (maybe even by hand?) with no consistentcy regarding the length for each string. Would have given it 5 stars had the second set been correct.

Have had these right at a year now. They have shone through myriads of bad weather and intense heat. Worth every penny!
