Not as pictured & advertised
I purchased these over other choices because they are advertised as insulated, but they are stamped with “WARNING NON-INSULATED.” They are not the same item pictured...the photo shows more thorough insulation. The product still appears to be high quality, but not as advertised.

Good Quality
These are a very nice set of pliers for the shade tree mechanic. I've been working on cars and trucks for 50 years and finally had to breakdown and buy a set of plug wire pliers. The spaces have gotten so tight under the hood and tune up intervals so long that the wires can get really stuck to the plugs. You also have the neglected type of vehicle this happens to. I was able to get the pliers on the boot at the plug thanks to the 45 degree angle. This was on a V6 Buick with very stuck boots. I was able to twist and turn the boot enough to break it free and remove the wire. The pliers have enough grip and strength to handle this situation. I would recommend these plug wire pliers to anyone who has an occasional need.

Well made.
These work well. The quality if excellent. Note, it does take some technique to make them work on really tight plug wires. I was beginning to wonder if any of this type could get off a difficult wire, but once I turned the wire greater than a quarter turn first (breaking loose the wire) then I could get off. I am quite pleased with the tool.

Read item description carefully!
This is a review for the false advertising and not the tool itself. The ad reads that these are insulated for safety. When the pliers showed up they are stamped “non-insulated”. I thought maybe it was a mistake from the warehouse and exchanged for the one in the ad. Received the exact same one. I’m sure they work fine when a motor is off but not if you need to pull a plug wire on a running engine.

You need plenty of clearance to use this tool
I got one of these but found it useless for my Ford Ranger V6 plugs. I found that old smaller size Channelock pliers worked well, but you could easily damage the wires that way. Since plugs last a long time, it might be better to change wires, if they aren't too much of a pain, at the same time as the plugs.

Great designed tool
Great for use on Chevy and fords when the spark plug wires are in the way of a job and you don't want to destroy the wires but need them moved. Also useful when checking cylinder balances for misfires.

What the hell was I thinking using pliers these are so much easier to use. Get yourself the right leverage the stubborn little guys come right off !

Boot the plug
Clamped spark plug boot in a poor access point. Removed same without damaging a light duty metal covering. Foot handle grip. Recommend
