Nice addition to the garden
This little humming bird is a nice little addition to my garden. It was easy to put together (put the wings into the slots) and has withstood some significant storms without any issue. The bird itself is very pretty and the colors hold up well over the summer. The reason for 1 star off is that, unlike the larger versions of these spinners, the pool this spinner is propped up with doesn't have the ability to rotate about itself (the larger spinners have poles that go into the ground and are made to rotate). My spinner is pushed into the dirt of my garden and has effectively created a little hole in the ground to turn about with the wind. Some day I'll find a piece of small pipe to drive into the ground and then put the post into. Because of this, my spinner sits at a bit of a slant.

Lost It's Wings
Tension was not the same for the entire spinner. Several wings kept popping out, even after applying Gorilla Glue. The spinner is currently missing two wings that I cannot locate anywhere. I've had two other spinners with similar designs that never had this issue.

really fun whirligig!!
I got this as a gift for my bird/garden-loving parents. They really love it (they aren't the type to lie, in fact they're pretty brutally honest & let me know that they don't like most the stuff i get them). It was easy to assemble, pretty high quality/durable especially considering low price (though my dad did put a dab of superglue in the little holes where the wings go just in case it got really windy). It has already survived a few snow-storms and some heavy wind. They've gotten a few compliments from their neighbors. And their toddler grandson is especially fascinated by it. I also got them the blue jay & it is just as big of a hit. I highly recommend this item to add a touch of fun to any yard!

Cute item
I purchased this item for my uncle’s grave. Good quality, easy to put together and makes it easy to locate him now.

Wouldn’t buy again
Extremely hard to put the wings into the holes, do not line up and some broke

Not windproof!
I got a variety of these spinners--all cute as a bug's ear, for sure--and they all suffered during a serious wind event. Parts of the critters were torn out of their attachment points. I was able to find all but one piece. I had glued all the pieces in place with epoxy but apparently those little dabs of glue were no match for the wind--even in a reasonably protected part of my yard. I now have a winter project: re-gluing all the detached bits!

Performs as perported
Does what it says... Spins. I had one in the past that was on a much longer pole and it swivelled to face the breeze. This one has a short fixed pole, so I put it in a length of pipe and stuck that into the ground, solving the problem. The comedian who picked/packed my order at the warehouse put it in a 6 foot long box and put a "caution heavy" sticker on it. As you can imagine it only weighs about a 1/4 pound, if that. That and the accompanying trip to the post office to pick up this oversized package was a great laugh! In summary I like this just fine.

Make sure to apply some glue when putting in “wings” so they don’t blow away in a strong wind.
This was a replacement for one we had on our deck for years (it finally wore out). Grandchildren love it.
