I bought this product with a healthy skepticism based off of some of the reviews I'd read. I saw that it was on sale from its normal price so I figured I'd give it a shot and I must say it was a great decision. The product arrived in less than one day from order which was nice. My initial concern was that the packaging would lend itself to chips and potential breaks (an issue brought up in quite a few other posts) I was very pleased to see the packaging was sturdy, secure and no breaks or chips existed! The packaging complaints from previous orders seem to have been addressed as each item was snug and secure and actually required a bit of effort to remove from it's pre-molded positions. The glass itself was beautifully clean, and clear with no noticeable deformations outside of the intended curvatures. This brings me to my one word of caution for prospective buyers... these glasses are quite large in the hand. I'm a 6'4 guy who can palm a basketball so they fit nearly perfectly in my hands but I could see them being a touch unwieldy for someone with smaller hands. With that said I absolutely love the feel and the aesthetic of each glass as well as the decanter itself. Perhaps my favorite thing is that they are hefty! You absolutely can feel the weight of each individual piece and at least in the early going this leads me to believe they won't be prone to easy chips. All in all I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone looking to purchase a nice whiskey drinking set. Hoping for many years of enjoyment out of this fine product. This set is beautiful but to be honest it took some time to get a complete set to me that was not broken. I bought this via PRIME about a week before the engagement party that I was planning on giving it as a gift at. I was distraught when I first received this item as the item arrived with two of the four glasses broken. This is a shame as the packaging for the set is beautiful. I was wondering just what I should do about it when I received a letter from the folks at Ashcroft asking how I liked the product and if I was happy with my purchase. I related my story to the customer service representative figuring that it was just a static response from the company and I would be lucky to hear back from them at all. Imagine my surprise when I received a personal letter the very next day issuing an apology for the broken set and informing me just to throw the damaged pieces away as a new set was being sent out next day air. Unfortunately when I received that set three of the glasses had been broken in transit as well. I wrote another letter to Ashcroft customer service expressing my dismay in knowing that the letter probably would not be received until the following Monday. I gave my phone number, just in case someone wanted to ask questions about it, included pictures of the damaged items and waited. I was more than a little shocked when Saturday I received a phone call from the owner of the company personally apologizing for the fiasco. He seemed genuinely concerned that I would not be able to give the gift to my friends, noted that the twisted decanter set had been experiencing some shipping problems and stated they were working on a resolution. As for me, he stated he again would send out another Twisted set as well as an additional Diamond Cut set as a final back up. Monday the twisted set arrived, and yes there were another two broken glasses, fortunately I had enough complete pieces to complete a set to give my friends. They loved it as it is certainly unique, very heavy and fine quality. The following day I received the Diamond Decanter set and my wife and I love it. Ashcroft was able to take a bad situation and through genuine customer care and concern have made a customer for life. I know I have had issues with the shipping of one particular design but I am not worried that should a similar situation arise, Ashcroft will once again rise to the occasion and provide excellent customer service. I absolutely love this set!! They are beautiful, functional and did I say beautiful!! Shipping - The decanter and classes were packed firmly in foam, that was in a box, that was in a sleeve... that is the Aschcroft packaging. Then that was wrapped in bubble wrap and place in a box, tightly. Everything arrived perfect!!! The Ashcroft packaging was great by itself!! The set: The glass is flawless and "crystal" clear. The twists highlight the color of the bourbon wonderfully. The decanter and its top are ground glass on glass, no plastic. The decanter and glasses are very study with matching twists. The decanter holds a full 1/5th of burbon. The glasses work well with ice balls or whisky cubes. (I like the stainless cubes as they drop the bourbon temp better than the soapstone and does not dilute the bourbon.) I plan on enjoying these for a long time to come. I see these as possible heirloom quality, lasting in my family a very long time. I am planning on getting another decanter or set in the future for tequilia.

My husband has wanted a decanter for a long time. When he saw the Twist set on Amazon, he smiled and said, "Get it!" Let me start by focusing on the box it comes in...a work of art all on its own. It's as though Ashcroft put as much thought into the packaging as they did the products inside. This box is stunning. In fact, my husband took as much pleasure in admiring the box as he did its contents. It is gorgeous. Each glass piece is fitted inside a protective foam cushion that kept everything perfectly safe during shipping. Now the glassware: I can't believe how well crafted these are. The glass is flawless. The glass mouths are wide enough for stones or cubes...and the bridge of your nose stays clear of the opposing rim! A huge plus for my husband's Roman nose :--) The pictures don't do the decanter justice. As the light hits the "twisted" glass and penetrates through the amber of the whiskey, it creates an amazing pattern of light. Almost a conversation starter in and of itself. My husband can't wait to serve his friends a nice glass of Deanston or Windsor in this set. Really, you can't go wrong here. Seriously, you have to see it for yourself.
