I had purchased the CO2 units in the past (Chinese) They're cheaply made but for the money, they got the job done. I only used it for making SS tags as most other functions were too cumbersome to mess with. My co2 unit went out in the middle of a job so I decided to try the laser diode route. Found this in a search and then purchased it. WOW! Wish I had this unit sooner! Went together real easy. Started right up. Software was extremely user friendly. And, I did not have to mess with calibration setup etc. My co2 unit must have been faulty from the start because this thing is does everything it says. I will definitely be using it for more projects than just lettering SS tags. Definitely purchase this item!!

This is my first ever laser engraver. I had always wanted one and after going over a few others, the price of this one, great reviews and fast shipping did not disappoint whatsoever. Prior to getting it I had 0 experience with laser engraving but thankfully it was a pleasant learning experiencepackaging wise, the laser itself was "double boxed", meaning its box was inside an amazon box which would have protected it in case of any shipping issues (looking at you USPS). Inside the box, all the components were packaged individually in foam inserts and inside plastic sleeves.Honestly all the products are aluminum and super strong/sturdy.IMO they went overkill with packaging but that shows you that it ain't a "flimsy" product. In addition to that, It brought everything I needed to set thing up even the tools and zip ties (which i was not expecting) There is a step by step instruction booklet on how to set it up and it took me less than 15 minutes to have everything setup.For software, I went with LightBurn (you can get a free 1 month trial) and setup was almost plug n play. for my windows device, I had to get the driver for it, thankfully i was able to go to "device manager" and the peripheral showed up as if something was wrong/missing with it. I right clicked it and proceeded to "update driver" and let windows "search for updated driver on the web". After a few seconds, windows found the driver and downloaded it and done. Restarted Lightburn and problem solved; the software saw the engraver and right away I was able to print. There are a lot of tutorials on how to print and what settings to go over with different materials so I wont go over them here.Ive had the machine for over a while now and It is great for learning, practicing and getting started in this world of laser engraving/cutting (yes it can cut materials too). If you want an amazing laser engraver without breaking the bank, look no more and go with this. 10/10 product.

I love this machine. I really do. But it was difficult to assemble. Some of the instructions were backwards and as hard as it was to do, I had to ask my husband for his help and opinion. I definitely suggest using the LightBurn software for this unit, especially if you are new to this type of technology. There are a lot of terminologies I had to learn. The Lightburn software instructions are a lot more thorough than the others. The videos were a huge help. If you join in on Lightburn's blog, there are a lot of very useful tips. Atomstack did not provide much instruction at all regarding the use of this machine. You will need to rely on the GRBL or LightBurn websites for a lot of help with the operation. As far as how this little baby works, it's beautiful. Very quality minded once you get the hang of it. So far I have engraved and cut both 1/8" and 1/4" birch and basswood. I use the engraving primarily to engrave 3/4" and 1" cedar and sassafras. The images are beautiful.

I agonized quite a bit before purchasing the ATOMSTACK X7 Pro. Did I really need 10W, or would 5W be enough? What size working area did I need? Should I go with a more expensive (or a less expensive) brand? After watching a couple Make or Break Shop videos, I decided to get the Atomstack X7 Pro.I've always been a tinkerer, so I am used to going the DIY route. That said, I didn't want this experience to be quite as rough as my first FDM printer, or my larger K40 CO2 laser. The Atomstack arrived in a sturdy box which was smaller than I'd expected. Inside, I found a carved foam interior, with extrusions, plates, the gantry, the laser assembly, and a few bags of hardware. The instruction manual looked substantial... until I opened it. The assembly diagrams are small, and not the most useful if you haven't put together anything with X and Y belts and stepper motors. Specifically, I think the belt routing instructions for the Y-axis belts could be more clear. Assembly took about 10 minutes, and about the only consideration is that you will need a fairly large (and flat) work surface.Aesthetically, the X7 Pro looks pretty nice. The pieces fit well, have great surface finish, and look like the results of some quality engineering. I don't really love the top-facing power and USB connections, but that's a minor gripe. The cable routing and cable control aren't the best. Still, the mechanical engineering and industrial design are quite a bit better than the software experience. The next step is to install LaserGRBL and the CH340 driver. The installation programs for both look pretty sketchy, but worked on my W10 Pro (21H2) workstation. Next, I installed Lightburn. My X7 Pro couldn't be detected in software, so I manually set it up. LaserGRBL is awful, but it has good material position location capabilities. Lightburn is quite a bit better than LaserGRBL, but it's missing some of the things that are most useful about LaserGRBL.In operation, the X7 Pro works fine. There's no autofocus, and no focus distance aid, so you're on your own in adjusting the module height. That wouldn't really be much of an issue, except the module wants to creep or skew when you're using the tightening screw. It's not the end of the world, but it's certainly not the nicest design. I've used the device on painted metal, plastic, and wood. My biggest problem with the machine is knowing what speeds and laser power to use. Atomstack has a PDF "guide", but it's not very helpful so it's more a matter of trial and error. My next biggest issue is the matter of material positioning. The glass shroud around the laser module is meant to protect your eyes, but it definitely makes precision placement of your material pretty difficult. Incidentally, I don't know that I really trust the glass shroud - I'm using goggles with this machine.My overall goal with getting an etching machine was to decrease my usage of my K40. The water, exhaust, air assist, etc. make me dread doing relatively small or short tasks... exactly the kind that I can now do with the X7 Pro instead. The overall experience isn't quite plug-and-play, but it's much closer than some similar machines. If you don't mind working for it a little, this can be a nice machine. It's mostly the price and the software that drop the value of this machine, in my eyes. I mean, there have been Arduinos with native USB for years, so why are we still using a CH340 bridge chip? Also, $650 is a decent chunk of change... and the Makeblock xTool D1 (at the time of this review) SELLS FOR THE SAME PRICE. If the prices were the same when I ordered the X7 Pro, I think I might have gone the other way. Ugh. Conditionally Recommended

La amecadotecnia con que anuncian estás máquinas engaña mucho. Te dicen que corta hasta 20mm de espesor y no es cierto, con trabajo corta 5.5 de MDF y con varias pasadas. Para grabar en materiales es muy bueno para cortar fatal. Y para colmo se le tronó el lente del módulo laser al mes. Lo terminé devolviendo. Y creo que nunca había devuelto nada, siempre busco como hacer que funcionen las cosas.

Si el vendedor ve este mensaje espero me pueda contactar porque de verdad que es un producto que esperaba y funcionará ya que estaba comenzando un emprendimiento y me desepcione totalmente ya que NO fue capaz de cortar madera (triplay, MDF) de 3 mm y es lo que según la publicación hace su producto.Perdida total de dinero y tiempo al querer arreglar la máquina.De verdad no recomiendo este equipo porque para grabar si sirve pero al querer cortar no cumple. Mejor ahorren más dinero y compren un láser de CO2 o algo más comprobado que está estafa.En mi equipo intenté cortar madera de 3 mm y si corto pero no por completo lo cual no me sirvió además después de varios intentos el láser dejo de enfocarse y ya no volví a tener un punto fino en el láser, como si la lente se hubiera quemado o desecho. Y ahora solo tengo un montón de aluminio y motores para tirar o para decorar mi mesa.De verdad espero me contacte el vendedor porq por ningún lado he podido encontrarlo y que me de una solución a su producto defectuoso, y lo peor es que ya no alcanzo el tiempo de garantía de Amazon para poder devolverlo.
