The ratio is 1 1/4 cups more water than rice (2 cups rice, 3 1/4 cups water; 5 cups rice, 6 1/4 cups water, etc.) and it comes out perfect every time. I believe for white rice it is 1/2 cup more water than rice, the brown rice requires more water. I tried to make from instructions using the lines in the cooker but that wasn't accurate so I use this ratio and it is perfect. That is the last gradient you see embossed in the "cup" but the cups "full" purpose is to be exactly at level (completely full, not heaping) witch equates to exactly 180ml (1 gō).
