Very Good Book.
I have another book by Ann Watson called, “Smart Soap Making.” It is the best resource for making soap that I have come across. It’s very easy to understand. So when I wanted to make goat’s milk soap, I bought this book. I made four batches of goat’s milk soap right after I got the book. Once again, I was very pleased with my new book by Ann L. Watson. My soap came out great. I was nervous about trying milk soap, but this book made me feel confident to give it a try. If you’re interested in making milk soap, give this book a try. There are recipes that use milk other than goat’s milk. She has recipes with Yogurt, powdered milk, and almond milk. I am very pleased with this book and glad I bought it.

So much fun!
I have really enjoyed this book. I never made soap before so when I had a surplus of goats milk I thought I would give it a try. My first batch turned out great until I tried to get it out of the mold. Guess I forgot to read the part on getting the soap out of the mold! She has very basic recipes you can almost make with what you have at home. There is also more expensive recipes. I am buying the ingredients for them a little at a time so I have not tried them yet.

The Go-To book to learn soapmaking
I know Anne personally and she is extremely knowledgeable in her profession, a kind and helpful person and her books are written clearly, easy to understand and written so the beginner to expert could easily understand the instructions. This is the book I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn. She also has Basic Soapmaking, Lotionmaking and probably more. All are excellent.

Buy this book -- you won't regret it
For 99 cents, if you own a Kindle or tablet, this book is an absolute treasure for the price you're paying for it. Anne writes comprehensively and dispels many of the most common soapmaking myths with straightforward explanations. You can definitely tell that she knows what she's talking about, and as the reader, you will benefit from her lessons learned through personal research, trial and error and lots of experience. If you're considering getting into milk soapmaking, do yourself a favor, spend the dollar, buy this book and read it cover to cover. This, along with Anne's book "Smart Soapmaking" will help give you the confidence you'll need to head to your kitchen, put your goggles and gloves on, and make some great soaps. You don't need pictures. She writes vividly enough and sorts her instructions clearly enough, for you to follow them just fine if you have basic reading comprehension skills.I'm extremely happy after buying all 3 of her books. Even though I didn't use any of her recipes (yet! -- I have my eye on her sour cream recipe and plan on making that as my next batch!), her instructions and explanations helped me overcome personal trepidation and make a fabulous batch of buttermilk soap that I'm looking forward to using in a few short weeks.

Good Book, Good Seller
Anne Watson is one of the Queens of Soapmaking. Her directions are clear, concise, and accurate! You’d think the latter should be obvious, but sadly not all soap books have Mrs. Watson’s high standards. This book gives great instructions on making soaps with ingredients that benefit from frozen liquid, like milk and cucumber. Recommend this book. If this review is to the seller, it was as described, well packeged, and arrived promptly.

Not as good as I hoped
Focused too much on using powered milk and not on real milk. It would be great for someone who didn’t have access to fresh milk but for homesteader or farmer there’s not a lot of bang for the buck. Disappointed.

A great bargain for a novice soapmaker!
I had tried milk soapmaking before purchasing this book, but did not have the best results. I wanted to make a beautiful bar of soap, and when an ad for this book for 99 cents at Amazon, I jumped on the chance to get it. I'm so glad I did - it is clearly written, and tells you exactly what to do. Some of the information is redundant for a more advanced soapmaker, but necessary for those of us who have just started out (plus it is SO easy to get 'comfortable' with lye and reading the cautions again can never be a bad thing.) Most of the information was GREAT, and she speaks from experience so if there was some little detail that you might notice as you are making your soap - Ms. Watson covers it and gives you the knowledge to know what is going on and why. I totally enjoyed the book and am SO glad I bought it!

Best soap making book for beginners!
Love, all of her soap making books. Her instructions are so easy to understand. I never made soap before, and was able to follow her instructions without too many problems. When I did have an issue, I emailed the author, and she responded quickly! I was able to fix my problem and my first batch of milk soap turned out wonderful.

Another successful book
This is the third book I have downloaded from this author, and it does not disappoint. Great, well-explained techniques with clearly described technical and scientific details. I am tempted to take up lotion making as well if her other book is as useful.
