Great if you can get one at a reasonable price
Purchased from Italian supplier. Cheapest on amazon and 50 euro than shops in dublin. Delivered free to Ireland in four days. There is a euro two pin plug/transformer but the supplier provides a UK adapter that fits perfectly.Set up takes minutes. There is a predefined set of settings for Eircom eFibre broadband. Done a firmware upgrade using the wizard with no problems. Broadband connection has been solid and wifi has too.Parental controls are no longer on the "top level" menu as shown on some you tube videos but under the Aiprotection option. Parental control is a doddle to set up much to my daughters annoyance BUT, there are no group or range settings (unlike my old Draytek) so each device has to have its own schedule. If you have a lot of devices (my kids have at least four each) you may be limited. AND, the time settings are hourly units and it would be nice to have this in 30 minute periods e.g 10.30 may be better than 11pm.Performance is good and we don't seem to suffer at the hands of my daughters streaming kardashin videos. I have used the user friendly management system to deprioritise all her devices! We have an iphone6 and two OnePlus devices availing of the 5ghz wifi. Its hard to determine the benefits of this in normal use. I can confirm that the range of the 5ghz is not great. Moving from the router room into the adjacent room loses one bar on our phones and 5ghz strength upstairs is weak.Normal wifi strength upstairs appears to be only a little better than the default eircom Zyxel F1000.I am pleased with the router and hopefully its future proof. If I had paid 250 euro though I think I'd be a bit disappointed..

Great piece of kit
Was a bit hesitant to buy this after reading some of the reviews but glad I did. I have a BT line and use TalkTalk. I literally connected the router to my PC, didn't even have to type in the web page 192......... IT OPENED UP ITSELF. Typed in my Username and password and set up SSIDs for 2.4 and 5.0 GHZ , job done. Works a treat. Firmware has been updated twice in 3 weeks. USB 3.0 speed is good (although nothing like its full potential)

Overall very good performance
Installed as part of an overall upgrade to AC around the house. Still the odd dropped connection every couple of weeks, but overall very good performance on WiFi. The jury is still out on ADSL performance. I'm working with Plusnet to sort out a drop in speed which more or less coincided with installation. That said, there was also a line problem about the same time.Edit 30/6/2016Been working well with very few problems. Reliability and speed (both WiFi and ADSL) have been admirable. Sill receiving regular firmware updates which have improved an already good interface.

Excellent all in one modem router for fibre broadband.
I have just changed my ISP to fibre and wanted a modem router to save space. This Asus DSL-AC68U seems to have it all. I can connect it directly to a VDSL without having to use the BT Openreach modem that had been supplied. It can also be used with ADSL. Since being connected it hasn't dropped connection once and wifi coverage is excellent. It handles multiple gadgets at once and really makes the most of fibre broadband. It has loads of features though an easy to understand user interface. Please note that it cannot be wall mounted but it stands nicely where my old router was as I built a little shelf for it that also keeps it away from computers, monitors and such like, that way I know I'm getting the best wifi performance possible. Should work with most ISP's, I'm with Plusnet. Oh yes, it's looks great too!

A great disappointment.
It is well made and, in a house with very thin walls, its performance may be acceptable but in my bungalow with solid walls it does not perform as well as my old Billion 7800N. There is a lesson to be learned here - do not believe all that manufacturers claim about their products. A great disappointment.
