Reawakening Musical Engagement
Was away from playing the flute for 15 years. Decided to play again since the abundance of free music instruction across platforms exist. Did not want to over buy as by no means need a professional grade instrument but appreciate a beautifully crafted piece that plays in tune and is easy to care for. When I gave this a few rips up the scales and through some music- I was struck with a "yes!" moment of my inner child and grade school band student self was high fiving. Love that I chose this. It is exactly what I was looking for as an all in one relaunch. Happy playing since :)

Very nice
I was looking for something I wouldn’t mind to pack around for the summer after years of not having played, and this seemed just perfect for that.. it came today and I’ve played it a bit and I must say I am so far very pleased.. doesn’t sound near as nice as my old (old) Yamaha used to but I’d give it a week before I’d chalk it up to anything but 20 years of operator rust :)I was sceptical about what you could realistically expect in a $100 flute but I am so far pleasantly surprised!

Amazing Value for the Money
The flute has quality look and feel, the keys act smoothly, absolutely no stickiness or looseness. It was well packaged with small pieces of cork under the keys to prevent movement in shipping. The nickel coating has no visible flaws. I checked intonation, I found it a bit sharp at first, but after I pulled the head out slightly, it was within a few cents with discrepancies in both directions (sharp and flat) so the problem is my poor beginner's technique, not the flute. I find the foot-body joint quite tight, it's challenging to assemble and disassemble without grabbing the keys, but quite possible with a few seconds of careful twisting. The head-body joint is easier.I'm very impressed with the completeness of the kit: a cleaning cloth, another cloth with a weighted string that drops through the flute, a stand, a little card with fingering corresponding to notes, even white gloves. The only thing missing is an instruction sheet: how to put it together, how to clean it, and where to go for a dead-beginner lesson (pick one from YouTube). Oh, and how to assemble the stand: it took me some fiddling to figure out that the cap unscrews and the feet fall down out of the tube - metal feet, not plastic, which is also impressive.I bought it so my daughter has no excuse when she "forgets" her band flute at school, but I like it so much I'll be picking it up too. I also own an Eastar violin, which I bought used from someone else last year. It also provides exceptional value for the money. The Eastar folks really seem to care about providing affordable musical instruments, not just crap that *looks* like instruments, like some companies sell. Truly impressive, I couldn't be more pleased for the money.

Parfait !

Decent for the cost; the accessories make it worthwhile..sorta.
Plays a decent sound, although it's easier to reach higher/lower register notes on the Yamaha. So far the key seals seem tight; it isn't leaking air and I haven't had to adjust anything. But after less than a week and even with cleaning it after each use, the points of frequent finger contact on the flute were tarnishing already. It is also heavier than our Yamaha. The accessories are nice..flute stand seems stable, case is nice. The cleaning rod and cloths are useful. Comes with gloves that fit smaller, maybe medium hands. You definitely get what you pay for and this is suitable for beginners or to try it out if you're not sure if you'll stick with it, but bear in mind that a better flute would keep a better resale value than this one.Photos added after I'd owned the flute for 2 weeks exactly.
