Strawberry Shortcake and the Deep, Dark Woods Hardcover – Import, 1 August 1983

I have been feeling very nostalgic lately and because I'm an adult with adult money, I figured, why not replace some of my old books and toys I've lost over the years. Some were lost thru moving or carrying things and leaving them and some sadly, like my Fievel doll, were lost in a fire. I don't know how this has happened or how it's even possible, BUT THIS IS MY BOOK!! I am flabbergasted! Gobsmacked! Like HOW?!?! For 40 years someone or many folks, have enjoyed this book and kept it in near pristine condition (the writings on the back cover are the only marks in the book) and somehow, it's made its way back to me! I don't know what this means hahahah or where the seller acquired it (I am curious so please let me know ☺️) but my inner child is "Berry" happy indeed!

If you can ignore the fact that Strawberry Shortcake breaks about every rule of survival in this book (wandering around late at night when it's dark and she's lost and can't see much), this is great strawberry shortcake classic. It's beautifully illustrated, fun to read, and has just the right amount of suspense for younger children. When Strawberry shortcake decides to go into the woods and pick wildflowers for her friends, she takes just a litttle longer than intended, and finds herself wandering around the woods at night. fortunately, she runs into an old friend - and some new friends - who help her make it home all right. The ensemble cast does make an appearance at the beginning and end of this book, and the story is both "scary" and heartwarming.

It was dusty and old

I ordered the above book, but instead recieved "Strawberry Candy Belts." I am very disappointed as I ordered one of my favorite childhood books for my 6 year old daughter.
