These are great heat sinks to just use on your projects. My most recent one is I put this on my car head unit and it just works fine. Some of the chips were overheating and so the backlight LED would flicker. Put one of these on no more problems. I also would recommend some K7 that's good stuff.

The heatsinks themselves do what I expect them to do: radiate heat. They are also small enough that - while thermal glue is required to adhere them to a curved surface - it does not take too much of it.(As to why they are glued onto a lightbulb: The #1 reason for light bulb failure is overheating ruining the driver chip. I had enough left over after using them for their intended purpose (a Pi) that I figured I may as well. I have absolutely no idea if this will actually help, but there is at least no way this could make things any worse.)

These are installed where I could on my Mac Pro and they adhered perfectly and months later they are still working great. I recommend this for anyone looking for those small little cooling upgrades to help cool any electronic device that they will fit.
