Very accurate and easy to use.
Really good. App is easy to use and seems pretty accurate. We’ve tested it with several people and kept track of what each of us have drank and it matches the amount of units very closely. Obviously I wouldn’t recommend using anything if the law depends on you being sober but this is very good for everything else.

Great little device
As a night club medical this pocket device is great to show people how drunk they are. Saves alot of arguments. Tested vigorously on a student night and was solid and reliable. Oozes quality, simple to use and estimated time to sober really handy.

Readings seem believable.
Of course you'll never know how accurate any of these things are without comparing to a genuine police spec breathalyser, and so I intend to follow the advice of not driving unless it shows 0.00. But this seems believable in terms of BAC increase per drink. Bought after my AlcoDigital 7000 went thoroughly unreliable, in spite of the sensor being nowhere near its use limits. It will happily tell me I'm 6 times the legal drink-drive limit after 2 beers. The Bactrack on the other hand registers me as approaching the (England) limit when compared side by side. Buying as a 'morning after' device (I wouldn't drink past the limit and drive the same day) the hours until sober feature is a real boon. I feel it allows me to make an educated decision on whether I can have one more drink tonight. It seems to be pretty linear. If you test 2 hours after it said 4 hours remaining, it'll say about 2. I went for the model that works fully (including hours until sober display) without the app. Worth the extra £20 in my opinion, as that's how I prefer to use the device.

Good for General Guidance, but Accuracy Issues Undermine Confidence
This is an okay product, but it is quite expensive for what it offers. I bought the BACtrack C8 over Christmas to give us some peace of mind around alcohol intake and to make sure we were safe to drive if needed. Before purchasing, I watched several reviews that mentioned how closely its readings compare to police breathalysers, which gave me confidence to go ahead. In general use, it seemed to work well, and it’s important to wait at least 20 minutes after your last drink before taking a reading, as instructed. However, we did experience a concerning issue. After my partner had a few fruity ciders and waited well over 20 minutes, the device returned a 0% reading. She tested again to rule out user error, and it came back as 0% a second time. This clearly wasn’t accurate, as she definitely would not have felt comfortable driving (not that we needed to). It’s unclear whether the device struggled with that particular type of drink or if something else went wrong, but unfortunately once it gives an obviously incorrect reading, it’s hard to fully trust the results going forward. That loss of confidence has a real impact on how useful the device feels. Overall, it’s a well-made breathalyser and can be helpful as a general guide, but given the price, I would recommend taking the readings with a pinch of salt rather than relying on it completely.

Not accurate and gives false unsafe readings!! Do not buy.
Used for first time on Christmas night out after four alcoholic drinks and C8 device gave reading of 0%. Got a colleague who had consumed more alcohol to try and they got 0% test result. Not fit for purpose as bought to ensure I am safe to drive and readings are way off.

Pretty decent. See full review
Tried and tested, it was so complicated understanding what the measurements mean but finally. IN CLEAR ENGLISH. 0.035 or UNDER you can legally drive in UK 0.036 or over eg. 0.04 your over the legal limit. 0.035 is approx 3.5 alcohol units and you get rid of approx 1 unit per hour but if your a heavy/regular drinker that's quicker

So easy to use
I use this on a regular basis just to be 100% sure, especially if I have to driver earlier than I expected, having been out the night before. I like the fact it actually says how long in minutes and hours before your body is at 0.00. One thing I have noticed is that some inhalers affect the readings though (gives a higher reading) so always test before using an inhaler.
