New concept for an old desktop user
Okay, let's get a couple of facts out of the way: 1. I've only had this desktop a week, so no comments on durability. 2. I'm old as the hills. My first personal computer was an Amiga. My first work computer had a CRT screen. Got all that? Great! Let's get this review started, then. Electronics and I get along very well. Unlike my niece, who seems to break her phone or computer every other month, my stuff rarely breaks, just gets outdated (somewhat akin to me, now that I think about it). So it was with my "old" desktop computer. It was still working fine after about six years, but in that time many things have advanced, especially on the graphics end. And my old computer still only connected by VGA cable...not even an HDMI port! So, using Amazon Prime Day as an excuse, I went a'shopping for a new desktop. Having worked with a few game developers (not as a developer, though, so don't ascribe me any coding abilities), I had some ideas on what to focus on. This won't be a technical review, however. I'm a writer and an Excel master. I'm pure end-user. But, I can read product comparisons and statistical analyses. I know where to look for key components and where not to overspend based on my needs. This iBUYPOWER computer does it for me. Not does it all, as you'll see below, but it's got the goods I need to have a happy and productive desktop experience. - The graphics card is an excellent and tested card. I've always preferred NVIDIA (so much so, that I bought stock in them). The graphic performance is a vast upgrade over my pitiful former card (so old, I won't even relate the number). - It has my longed-for HDMI port. Between the new card and higher-capability connection, I am living high on the hog visually these days. - Computing power is tough to measure. Although my complex, macro-driven workbooks demand processing speed, I can't say the newest chips are showing a measurable impact on their performance. Nevertheless, multi-tasking activities are running smoothly and without issue, even when I tab out of memory intensive games to check mail or do some internet searching. - The attractiveness of the case and the accessories is nice. I thought it was just window dressing in the image, but that "rainbow effect" is quite cool. I haven't even played with the settings yet (remember, only a week old). I expect that will be fun. - Instant activation of Windows was nice. Boy, do I despise those endless activation codes. Much better this way. - Super quiet. It's like a hybrid car, sometimes I don't even know it's on (yes, the lights thing, I mean sound). On the flip side, some of my fossilized experience created some surprises for me: - Uh. No DVD/CD drive? Huh? All you youngsters only load stuff digitally now? What about my dinosaur games? Heck, I even still own music CD's (Don't ask "what are those". Just don't). Not unsolvable, with a $23 Amazon purchase of an external DVD "fixing" that omission. - Corded keyboard and mouse? How old school! Works for me, even if I was previously using wireless on both. And, I actually remember why I like wired mice (no worry about obstructed positioning). - Hard drive partitioning. This is weird to me. I'm used to simply having a single C: drive with all my space. This C: drive with 250 GB (?) and 1 TB D: drive makes my head spin. I'm getting used to it, but is this the new normal or just something gaming computers do? Bottom line: I'm having a great time with this computer. It works fast, it offers superb video quality and it looks cool. A happy purchase to take me out of my "old school" desktop into the modern era.

This machine is a BEAST!
I was looking for a top of the line gaming rig and my search stopped when I came across this bad boy. Great aesthetics, power, and price! On Tuesday at 3pm EST I threw all of my inhibitions to the wind and ordered this machine. I paid an extra $20 for next day shipping, because really what's an extra $20 when the total purchase is over $1,800? Despite shipping to the east coast from California it was ready for pickup at my local UPS facility by 9am EST on Wednesday. Wow! The PC was very well packaged with plenty of foam padding including an insert inside of the machine to keep the components and wiring from moving around. It's very easy to open up the case and remove it. The case is beautiful. It has tempered glass windows all around which are illuminated by the red fans inside. It has legs on the bottom of each corner so it sits up off the floor/desk. The power button, USB ports, and audio inputs are on the top of the front of the case for very easy access. It also has the ibuypower Chimera picture which glows red on the bottom of the front of the case. This is the best looking PC that I have ever owned and looks gorgeous! Inside the case the components are very neatly laid out and well wired. Plenty of room for expansion and includes high quality components. Has an ASUS motherboard and DDR4 RAM. Asus 1080 GTX. Liquid Cooling. Itโs all there. The initial setup is a breeze. Itโs pre-loaded with a bloat free Win 10 Home. The power is raw and it runs around 20 degrees C. I tested out Rocket League at the highest settings and ran at a constant 144 FPS @1080P with no fluctuation. On my previous machine I would often dip down to 142 and into the 130โs if there was a lot of action (i5 3570 & gtx 970). I also tested Elder Scrolls Online using Ultra settings at 1080P and the graphics were amazing and performance was very fluid. I havenโt reviewed the FPS yet but I can tell thereโs a huge difference. Iโm looking forward to trying out Battlegrounds and Killing Floor 2 this weekend with the new machine! In the future I canโt wait to play the new Resident Evil 7 also. Thank you Amazon and IBP!! : - ) Edit1: Fired up Player Unknown's Battlegrounds last night. While the game is currently an unoptimized POS I was hitting between 80-90 FPS on Ultra settings. This weekend I'm going to get FPS counts for Elder Scrolls Online, Killing Floor 2, 7 Days to Die, and possibly some others so stay tuned. Edit2: I reached out to IBP on Friday requesting a Ghost Recon Wildlands code and they sent one no questions asked same-day via e-mail. Thank you! Over the weekend I tested Payday 2 which ran on Ultra settings between 130-144 FPS. I also played Ghost Recon Wildlands which ran great on ultra settings although I did not have the FPS counter on. I would guess it was at least 60 if not 100+. I installed the Asus Prime motherboard utilities and updated all of the firmware. It's a great piece of software that allows temperature monitoring, overclocking, junk file cleanup, etc.

Fast and Beautiful! As described but some issues with packing and software
PC is a beast, if you never had a true gaming computer or you haven't had one in a few years (like myself), then you will be very impressed immediately with its case and internal wiring/config/lighting. It's really a masterpiece, nearly all glass constructed tower. The mouse and keyboard are kind of gimmicky but hey that's not what u spend $1700 for and they work as expected (mostly). Packaging - Packaging was in the manf. box, although it was padded well and had instant expansion packing inside the tower itself. Basically, unless the box gets a substantial shock or punctured, there's no way this PC would break during shipping, and if it did it would only be the glass. The MSI motherboard manual was ripped and crumpled up like it was mishandled during packing, but it was useable. I would give it a 4/5 because it should have another box to protect it and the manuals should be packed with care. It also seems to be missing the LED controller, although I did find some reviews on another site that its velco'ed inside. The reviews also stated that the LED breaker box should be unplugged and reconnected in order for it to work for some reason, but there was no mention of this in the directions and I was unable to locate a controller inside the casing, or idenify which wires and which LED's would need to be reconnected. Setup - Setup was relatively easy but the directions were vague so you kindof need to figure it out yourself. I noticed a few DOA posts, and more likely they are related to improper setup. The unit with the ASUS GPU has two HDMI ports, and an extra HDMI on the top section but only two work (the ones next to each other on the ASUS 1080), the ones tied to the 1080 are covered with black ports that are hard to notice initially. This is standard with most high-end cards, but usually, there's a sticker. At first, I used the wrong HDMI port assuming it was connected to intel integrated graphics and it did not give me any screen when I went to turn it on near the top of the tower (about 30% of the motherboard ports oddly do not work at all.. but have equivalents elsewhere on the tower ). I noticed after some debugging that the issue was using the wrong port and located the ones with dust covers. After that, it went through the standard Windows setup, and it was pre activated already. Having two HDMI ports is great for VR that are tied into the discrete graphics card and it also have two full display ports. Many 1080's only have one HDMI, and if you do not get a model with a ASUS TURBO 1080, then you will likely find you need an adapter for VR (Mini to Full Display Port for Vive). It seems they are randomly adding high end 1080's, so it might be something u wanna consider upfront if you plan to use this rig for VR. Issues - Besides the issues explained previously, the most troubling one was the Wifi USB adapter was broken. It allowed me to connect to my hotspots but maybe 1 in 100 tries to connect to a web page worked. It's a very cheap USB wifi adapter and I would have rathered them not used one at all because it cost me 4-5 hours to troubleshoot drivers before I noticed it was broken, and another 2 hours to go out to the store and buy a new one. The mouse is also acting oddly, not scrolling on pages with scroll-wheel and messing up the volume. This is a feature of windows, when u hold the DPI button it will change to volume adjustment for the scroll wheel, but since the button isn't actually a clickable button but a switch, it randomly enables this mode and can't be stopped. Eventually I decided hardwiring the internet would be best, and found the internal networking card to be sufficient providing 250 MBPS! Overall - I would have liked better packing, and the Wifi issue has been a major hassle, but the computer is else wise as described. I am still waiting on my wife to bring the new Wifi adapter home, and when she does I will update to confirm that fixed the wifi issues. I would recommend also buying a decent wifi adapter because there are other reviews that had similar issues.

Make sure you buy the extended warranty.
For the first year, I really enjoyed my computer. It ran fast and the graphics were fantastic. However, within a year, the water cooling system failed. Because of the design of the computer, I was unable to remove the part and install a new part myself. Instead, I had to pay to ship the entire computer to IBuyPower. I wish I had just paid a professional to install an entirely new (and better) part because now, exactly one year later, the water cooling system has failed for a SECOND time. Thank goodness I purchased the protection plan because otherwise, I would have a two-year-old, expensive paperweight. If you have anything close to the technical skills to build your own computer, do that instead of purchasing this one unless you want a computer that has to be shipped off for repairs once a year.

A real Full Review, by a Real Buyer, From Baton Rouge.
First and foremost, lest there be any doubts, I am a bonifide, Real person/Purchaser of this Gaming Computer. I only say this because whenever I looked at the reviews to make my decision, I noticed that Some of the reviews had some seemingly obvious spelling errors/ inconsistencies or irregularities in phrasing, that made them seem more like fake Advertising rather than accurate reviews. Well let me assure you if you're this reading now:.... I am a person who has purchased this Rig, My name is Russell, and I was skeptical before I made my decision, just like you may be now. If you can trust me on that one, I will let you know with certainty, that this PC is excellent, and I received it Quickly and in Great condition from IBuyPower. I was very concerned as to the build quality and the components that would be used. It Turns out, the components are Fairly High Spec, in terms of Overall Quality and Brand Recognition. They may use different components in each for all I know, but I got a KabyLake I-7 7700k 4.2 GHZ processor. Which is way more than I need, or even expected. Looking in the device manager it reads as an 8-core, which is a fact I was very much Ignorant to! (Assumed it was the base level I-7) The ram is 16GB G-Skill Ripjaws! Which is more capacity than what I included when I tried to build my dream PC at some Other site! Having said that, I would have preferred the same 16gbs of ram but at 3000MHz, but that is not really an issue for my needs, & because I've got 2 extra slots to expand on if I want to, and the 16gb at 2400 is already working like a dream! The Graphics Card is an MSI GTX 1080 with its own built in Fan/Heatsink system which I was thrilled with and surprised by! The Intel Processor is cradled by a Worthy and reliable Liquid cooler, and the entire case is Wired Professionally, with Multiple Fans Blowing over the Motherboard/Processor/GPU and an additional Fan on the back, pulling any hot air Out! So that's cooling all over including the GPU! The SSD is very workable at 250gb, and there is room for another if needed. But don't forget, there's a 2TB HDD as backup! Also, if you've never booted windows From an SSD before, you're in for a friggin Treat! It takes exactly NO time! ( its sooo fast;)). The mother Board on mine is an MSI "Gaming" MotherBoard, and it is 100% reasonable for what I needed. My Dream build would have a motherboard from MSI (the Carbon Gaming pro series) that would've cost about $200 extra for features that I can safely say, I wouldn't have noticed! So here we are. It's an awesome Core I-7 build, with more Processor Power than I need; completely sufficient 16gb RAM with 2 Slots to improve! A Graphics Card that is both Safe from Heat Issues, and very close to the Top Teir (GTX-1080i...I think) and Rapid SSD Storage, Supported by a 2TB secondary HardDrive. The first game I benchmarked had a Average FPS of 143. Maximum FPS of 160. And minimum of 119. This game was running on ULTRA setting and it was a walk in the park for Maude! I've named the Computer MAUDE. Deal with it. This PC is PERFECT. Buy it now. Unless they provide an even more awesome upgraded build soon, this one is a sleek Shiny Badass of a Gaming PC & I can't express how much I mean this. You can believe me. Honestly, I wouldn't normally put in this kind of effort to describe and tout something unless There was also something in it for me. But this time, I've already spent the money, and I'm just happy to have made a purchase that I can stand behind and recommend. I am relieved that this time, it was all I wanted and more. It's my first Ibuypower PC, & I'm certain I will be Back! Buy this NOW.

Well worth the money, very fast, very good gaming machine, and all around beast.
I would like to start off by saying that i bought this due to such high prices of GPUs and needing to rebuild my PC, but cost wise, this was the BEST option for the money. I would of rather of built one myself, but i am starting to think those days are gone. below is my review. I have the new i7-8700K version of this computer. So far it is awesome and i can not find a game to slow it down to much. I have tried Total War Rome 2, doing a full war 4v4 with max units and Ultra settings for graphics. i did get down to about 50 FPS but with the amount of textures in this game, and running with every single graphic option maxed out, I would say this is a power house. when doing this the CPU got to about 70 Degrees C. GPU was running a little hot around 82.I would recommend another exhaust fan for this rig on the top to pull out the hot air from the GPU. Other wise the hot air is being sucked straight into the CPU water cooler and seams to slow down it's cooling power. So I will be adding an extra exhaust fan to help with this. Now I had this under real loads, never synthetic, but i have tried many games, and programs trying to slow it down and heat it up. the hottest i have seen the CPU get was 82 and gpu was getting to 92 which is a little warm but not too bad. If iPower reads this, please consider adding this exhaust fan for future builds. I bought this more specifically because I was trying to play Final Fantasy XV and my old computer just could not handle it. and it was old. I have put it on here, turned on the FPS overlay, Maxed out the graphics and turned off v-sync to see what it was running at. I was getting from 80-150 FPS deepening on what was going on. Obviously the 150 was in the city and just walking around and the lower 80 was in fights. after i turned down shadows, because i don't really care for them, i stayed above 100 for more then 90% of the time. For those that want some more technical specs then what is provided from the description on here. this came with a Full ATX MSI Z370A PRO Motherboard, 16GB DDR4 G.Skill Ripsaw RAM (2X4GB sticks with 2 slots left to add more), Gigabyte 1080 (with a blower type heat sync for those that need to know), 3Display ports, 1 HDMI, 1 DVI-D. 4 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 on the back, 2 USB 3.0 on the top front of the case, no idea what the brand is for the water cooler, and I recived a 500GB SSD it is a WB Blue SSD, and then a 2 TB Segate drive. WORD OF CAUTION, adding another Hard Drive to this is a PAIN IN THE you know what. Not impossible, but not easy. however, if you want to add a 2.5" drive, like another SSD, there is a nice spot for it right in the front and should be able to add one in like 2 minutes. Any question feel free to ask and I will try to answer. I am a nerd and computer geek, and love talking nerdy. in the end, I am happy with this purchase.

iBOUGHTPOWER and love it!
Best machine for the price!!! My previous 2 PC's were Dell towers one being an Alienware. I could not update the Alien to Win 10 so I started to shop for a new Dell. Dell could not beat this price with this processor and video card. Couldn't even come close! I'm very glad I went with this PC. Quite, Fast and looks great! Runs all my games with no issues. *The only note I would add is when you receive this PC there is a dust screen that covers the front two fans that is held in place by magnets. Mine was not seated properly but was easily moved into place. The magnets are nice as it makes removing it for cleaning very easy. **Update: The PC is less than 7 months old and I started to get a CPU overheat warning on startup. I called Tech support and was given choices of sending in the PC for repairs or if I am comfortable I could have the part (liquid cooled pump) sent to me and I could replace it and send back the bad one. I opted to have the part sent to me. I had to fill out a form on line and was told within a few hours I should receive a RMA and to call back in with the RMA to start the process of having the part shipped. In order for the RMA to be given iBUYPOWER has to verify when you bought the PC from the reseller to determine it is within the warranty time frame. I did not receive the RMA the first day I called and waited some time the following day and called back to check the status of the RMA. I was told there is an issue with their system that verifies purchase dates with the resellers and it would be a little later to get the RMA. I spoke with a manager and offered to print, scan and email my purchase information but was told it does not work that way. It has been four days now without a RMA being generated and after several calls to Tech support and Customer Service was told there is still a issue with their verification process and the IT people are working on it. They went on to say its not just me but anyone that bought from a reseller and has a open service ticket cannot get a RMA. My last communication with Tech support I was told the issue looks to be resolved and they see some RMA's being generated and I should receive one within a couple of hours. Another day has passed and still not RMA. I offered to pay for the pump in advance and then get a credit once they get their RMA situation solved but they said they can't do this either. I'm sorry to say I have to downgrade my original 5 stars to 3 and may even have to keep downgrading based on their resolve. I will keep updates on this ongoing process and how long I am without a working PC. UPDATE: Received a manual RMA as they were still having issues. Not sure why they could not do this in the beginning but two days after the RMA the part arrived. (They did offer 2 day air at no charge after speaking to a manager) PC is back up and running.

it's like a work of art that I just had to ...
My first "gamer" rig, decided to go all out and spend a paycheck. Well packaged, no damage to the box, everything included was accounted for once unpacked. Follow the instructions to remove the internal foam protection before powering up (very simple). I dig the ambient red lighting of the mouse, keyboard and especially the case. This machine is QUIET! Call it nearly MUTE. Replaces an old HP Pavilion desktop with noisy fans which always indicated to me when I was overloading the system by whining loudly. I'm NOT a gamer (yet) but decided to start a trial of World of Warcraft. Game and graphics ran SMOOTH even though I had no idea what I was doing running around in the game. I look forward to my video editing I'm sure this box will handle it. Pros: QUIET, durable, glass case shows just how CLEAN the internal set up is, it's like a work of art that I just had to prop up on the top of my desk instead of the ground shelf designed for holding the tower. Like said before, NO bloatware pre-installed. How great is that. Comes with RECOVERY disc and MB disc and documentation. Very happy with the package. Cons: Non for me. The packaged mouse plugged into the regular USB ports was sketchy (maybe needed a mouse pad?), so I plugged in an old Dell mouse and it worked fine. I haven't tried the upper section of USB ports (one 2.0 and one 3.0) for the packaged mouse but no big deal. Looking forward to years of being able to handle my video editing and the random games I decide to test out. My next step is looking for a compatible and capable gaming monitor. Right now running on an old 27" LED but really there are no problems that I can tell.

Great
I've purchased a few different iBUYPOWER machines (as development workstations running Ubuntu) over the past 2 years. Aside from the horrible brand name, these computers are fantastic. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Fast, reliable, great value.

Sexy PC. Looks really empty inside probably because it dosnt need a big heat sink due ro thermal cooling. Just plug in your monitor and accessories, turn it on and follow about 5 minutes of prompts and it is ready to go! Very Quiet! Cons- to my surprise no disk drive. I thought all computers had one especially when they are so cheap. This rig dosnt have a spot for one. The front of the case dose not open. Also there is a very quiet high frequency beeping sound coming from inside every once in a while. This could be heard by others while talking on team speak. Powerful rig and priced right. You probably couldn't build your own for much cheaper.

Looks great when its working.
Runs everything I can throw at it on ultra and looks fantastic. Shortly after playing a demanding game, however; it crashes. Uninstalled all the bloatware associated with the RGB components because most crashes had one or more of them failing but it has not corrected.
