This hair spray is great for holding your hair-style in place. The price (under $3) for an 11 oz can is very affordable. Although this formula states that it's fragrance free, it does have a light scent that is reminiscent of rose-water and it does fade quite fast, so that isn't a concern for me. After purchasing 1 can, I liked it enough to order another.

I had previously used the Rave 4X Megahold hair spray. Since I was happy with product performance I decided to order the Rave 5X Megahold hairspray, obviously thinking it would mimic the 4X but with slightly superior hold strength. I did not read any reviews on the product since I had little reason to believe that a can of hairspray would have issues, rather believing I was simply moving to superior hold strength with 5X vs. 4X. The 5X cans are defective from the manufacturer. There is no "spray" from the can's nozzle. What comes out is a straight stream, so narrow one could push the nozzle, aim it at a quarter, and it would hit the quarter with no liquid missing that quarter. One could do that even if the quarter were held 3 feet from the nozzle. I then decided to read some reviews and found this complaint to be pretty ubiquitous, many, many had the same complaint. Clearly the cans are defective. I even tried switching the 4X nozzle to the 5X can. The 4X nozzle works fine on the 4X can, but when switched to the 5X can it produces no better results...just a straight stream. One cannot spray their hair with a stream of liquid, it must be a mist type spray. Thus the product is totally useless. I suspect the manufacturer probably knows of the defect. Total waste of money.

We use the 4x version, but ran out and didn’t have time for a run to Wally World. This was next day delivery, same price, but the 4x wasn’t available for next day delivery, so I ordered this. OMG. Think Aqua Net! I mean, yes, it holds. A little goes a long way. Good for holding frizzies in place if you’re doing a bun or pony tail. Your hair isn’t going to move with this stuff on it.

I don’t care who says what, this and aqua net are top tier hairsprays with unmatchable hold. I do slicked back buns and ponytails basically everyday and this really keeps my hair in place and not frizzy. I have some re growth and ofc breakage that will stick up but this keeps it slicked down. Especially if I do it when my hair is wet. I do find this one can give you flakes when you brush it out (if you used a lot) but they can easily be removed. This is literally $2 at the grocery store near me, meanwhile all the newer ones see almost $8. im going to stay using this and aqua net until I die 🤷🏻‍♀️

This does hold very good where it is sprayed, but the nozzle doesn't spray very wide, so if you are trying to keep your sides smooth in a ponytail or a braid, you have to spray quite a lot to get good coverage, then usually have some residue to struggle with in your next shampoo, and sometimes still a frustrating missed spot you don't find until later. This would be best if you want it to cover small, specific spots.

Bad nozzle on both cans. The spray was more of a stream than a light mist. Made my hair too stiff to comb. Very disappointing as I’ve used this product for a long time. Won’t repurchase

Holds thin hair in place very well. A bit drying. The smell is okay but not if you use too much.

I ALWAYS read reviews on my purchases, but didn’t on this because I’ve bought other types of Rave hairsprays.This shoots out like a water gun shoots. I even tried switching the top with my other can of Rave and it still shot out. Waste of money!
