Not the size I wanted. To big. Does not fit my base.

This radio has many bad qualities, and one surprisingly good and unexpected one.To get down to it, this antenna is horrible on 2 meters. My SWR meter was pinned in the red and I only attempted to talk on it for a short while before I shut my radio down in fear of damaging it. Definitely a no go there. 70cm was a bit better, getting sometimes a SWR reading of 2 or lower, but still not fantastic.Overall impressions of the build are fairly cheap, where the black plastic meets the metal ring which house the threads, there is a slight gap which would potentially allow water inside. The threads do however mesh nicely with NMO style mounts.Although this antenna is overall horrible on 2m and okay on 70 cm, it does shine on a slightly higher band, that of GMRS. Out of pure curiosity, I hooked it up to my midland micro mobile and keyed it up. SWR of 1.4 or less consistently on all channels! Seems to me that this antenna has some use overall, although not as advertised.In all, I’m not sure if I got a fluke from the factory to make this thing work so well on GMRS, but it definitely doesn’t work as a normal dual band antenna. Buy at your own risk, but if you are looking for a new stealth GMRS antenna, you might have just found a bargain.KJ7CTJ

I ordered this product and it arrived broken. The outside show no signs of any damage but if shaken it rattles as if something inside came loose. I then ordered another one and it was fine. I screwed it on and used it for four months and then when I removed it I noticed the same thing. No damage to the exterior but something on the inside has come loose and it now rattles inside. Very disappointing.........

Stopped working after a few hours of being attached to my off road vehicle. Rattles when shaken now, something came apart inside.

The price point for this item is awesome. Cost is about as much as a rain cap for an NMO Mount. And is a better antenna than a rain cap. I have no trouble going through car washes etc. with this on my fender mount. I live in a small city where the closest repeaters are about 15 miles away. And most of the main repeaters are closer to 20 or 25 miles away. I did notice a serious difference between this and my regular antenna in sensitivity. Probably not an issue in an urban area where repeaters maybe closer and more plentiful. Again, I use this as an alternative to a rain cap or for when I will be navigating parking garages it works great for that!
