Now my primary mandolin pick!
YouTube mandolin sensation David Benedict recommended the Golden Gate "Clown Barf" pick, so I gave them a try. David prefers the "X-Stiff" pick (approx. 1.5 mm thick), but I've gravitated to the slightly thinner "Stiff" version. The edges are nicely beveled... meaning they don't drag on the strings... and the outrageous color makes it virtually impossible to lose them! (Anything's possible, but they certainly don't hide in the bottom of my instrument case like the tortoise-shell colored ones always seem to do...)Anyway, these are among the best "low-cost, non-boutique" picks available. Another great option is the Jim Dunlop Primetone family of picks, but they are among the ones that hide in my case!!!!

Golden Gate picks
These were really nice looking picks but had to return because the wrong size had came , could have kept them but they were a little to thin for mandolin

Define STIFF
This pick is not as stiff as my Fender Heavy or any of my 1mm picks. This pick is thinner then the 1mm and less then the Fender which is a .9mm. If you are looking for a .7 to .8 mm pick then fine. However I like a 1mm or close to a 1mm pick. I wish Golden Fate would include thickness i the description of their picks.

My very favorite picks
These picks are excellent. Definitely my all time fav out of the countless picks I’ve tried over the years. They’re also very pretty.I’m not convinced “clown confetti” is the best naming for this color combo. I think “pink rainbow surprise” would be more accurate. Jk.
