Really easy to follow book of lovely recipes
A friend recommended I get Ella's books after I had to remove fat from my diet for medical reasons.Although vegan (I am not), the recipes that I have tried from this book have been really tasty.Ella uses a lot of the same base ingredients, so you only have to stock up on a few cupboard essentials, then using lots of fresh ingredients, which is nice!Definitely a book that I will use a lot, even when I'm back to eating normally.

Fabulous
I bought this last week as a result of wanting to eat 'clean' and generally be more healthy. I hadn't really expected much but I felt like writing a review the minute I flicked through it as the recipes are so inspiring and delicious looking. But I held off until I'd cooked a few different things from it. Now, having used it for a week I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone.Pros-Delicious recipes that work - So far I have made the Chia Seed Pudding (delicious and filling for brekkie), the fudge (yummy but expensive to make!), kale salad, nut pesto, chickpea wraps and falafel which were all lovely!- very easy - no skill required- nothing I made took very long so it's quick- beautiful, inspiring book and also she has a you tube channel where she makes some of the stuff in her books if you would like to couple the two.Cons-If you don't have a lot of the ingredients it is costly at the start. Everything is easy to get either via supermarket or online but I spent a small fortune in the health food shop last week. I think now that i have so much in my store cupboard I won't have to spend the same again for a long time.-Not a con for me but it is a VEGAN cookbook even though it is not marketed as such. I dont think i saw a single animal product in this book.- While its all gluten free, clean etc, you shouldn't be under the illusion the recipes are all low cal. Many of the sweeter ones are packed with medjool dates which are delicious but essentially still sugar! And lots of (good)fats. It isn't a con for me but something to be aware of.I can't wait to continue making recipes from this fab book :)

Awesome cookbook!
My daughter Maria writes:I pre-ordered this book as soon as I could as I am a massive fan of Deliciously Ella and her blog since my early teens. There are over 900 reviews (which should tell you enough about how awesome this cookbook is) so I'll try to give a bit of a run down of my favourite recipes. This book is simply amazing, I gain inspiration and cook from it pretty much everyday now I'm afraid my book will fall apart if I keep this going (although it's showing no signs of falling apart)! I love how genuine she is and inspiring without judgement towards what people eat and this truly comes through in the book as well. Being eighteen, I am at that age where health isn't at the top of my friend's list but this book really does cater for us all. If you add salmon on the side or cheese to your baked potato it is completely fine, it is for the plant based and the omnivores among us all which makes the book so attractive. Ella also incorporates staple healthy ingredients like sweet potato, fresh vegetables, legumes, nuts and grains therefore making all the recipes accessible wherever you are. Yes that means random super foods that must be sourced from the ancient Mayan civilisation do not make an appearance. ;) Substitutions can also be made with easy in all of the savoury recipes.I'm still making my way through all the recipes but I have cooked more than half of them and my favourites include:-Quinoa & Turmeric Fritters: the mix for this was insane, I ate it straight from the blender and then of course had to make sure some made it to the oven for the family. Great on top of simple veggie salad.-Creamy Coconut Porridge: 'nuff said ;)-Apple & Cinnamon Porridge Bake: I grated pears instead of apples as this is what I had an it turned out divine, really easy to substitute what you have an hand as well, foolproof!-The superfood bread served with the baked beans and classic hummus is the bomb.-Chickpea Flour Wraps served with some mashed avocado. As you can see I have quite the sweet tooth. There are dhals, curries, soups, desserts, salads, I personally cannot fault this book and am eagerly awaiting book number 2. Many have commented that the set up of the categories is confusing but for me I don't find that since I have used it so much, I just know where everything is located. :P Hopefully this has been a helpful review. In my opinion investing in your health and cooking for others is one of the most rewarding things you can do and this book really helps you with that amazing feeling. Thanks Ella!
