Those prescribed night braces ranged from mildly irritating to extremely uncomfortable at night and disturbed my sleep. The United Ortho Night Brace is the first one which is UNBELIEVABLY comfortable!! I have to admit that when I first received it, I was very nervous when I saw the hard plastic frame and being so bulky looking. All my previous braces had been much smaller and softer in consistency, and yet uncomfortable to wear. So I thought this one would be horrible...but boy, was I surprised when I tried it on!!! My foot felt soooo comfortable all night! I was able to get through the entire night without ripping it off after a few hours...which I frequently had to do with the others. I love the soft inner lining (removable for cleaning), and the fact that it has buckle clips instead of velcro to put on and take off, which is quick and easy (and not loud enough to wake up my husband). I have been wearing it every night now for over a month, and in the morning my foot and ankle stiffness has improved and my first few steps feel less painful. I am hopeful that since I have now finally found a brace which I am able to wear regularly, it will help me get through my recovery successfully from severe PTTD and Planter Faciitis! I highly recommend this brace to anyone who has foot or ankle issues and needs to keep them stabilized at night.
