Nice product; used occassionally
I like these, although I only use the gaiters occasionally. I never feel like they are a true necessity; however, if I have a light load and the gaiters will be convenient for the environment I am backpacking (e.g. boggy or small rocks that can find their way into boots) I will sometimes wear the gaiters. They perform well for their design. They are not meant to be "waterproof" so they are not meant to keep your legs bone dry for prolonged submerged stream crossing for example. But they are plenty "water-resistant" so they do repel seepage very well when your leg sinks into boggy mug or you're hiking through soaked vegetation, for example. They have held up well for durability, considering I am not to hard on them and I only use them occasionally. I bought a size up than my true fit on purpose in case I ever wear them over other layers, so mine are a bit loose under normal conditions but still fully functional and effective. One con is the velcro closure at the front. I am just not a velcro fan, and I haven't yet figured out how I'll repair them when the velcro eventually wears out. A zipper might be more durable, but less water resistant. The elastic at the bottom opening is great for keeping a tight seal. The fabric is breathable and doesn't feel hot or clammy. Very satisfied when I do indulge the luxury of wearing gaiters in the backcountry, but I would not say this product is an absolute necessity. FYI in case anyone is shopping for snake gaiters these are NOT the same. Snake gaiters are heavy duty material; these are a lighter-weight fabric that snake bites can easily penetrate.

Super Gaiters
This is my second pair of OR Gaiters the purchase of which was necessitated by a chewing puppy. The fit well, don't slide down and are comfortable for a day of searching. I had a hard time finding them as they don't seem to be carried by the major outdoor sports retailers. For anyone engaging in serious woodsy traversing, I recommend them.

Nicely Made But Can't Use - Too Small
I bought these for my husband to use at a winter boy scout event in the deep snow we've had this winter in Southern New England (knee to hip deep).Although well made, these extra large size gaiters will not fit over his men's size 10 Sorel snow(pac) boots. The foot strap is far too short, and the dimensions are far too small in diameter, even in size extra large. They are obviously made to go over hiking boots only. So they sit unused. We'll likely give them to our 12 yr old son to use, but these are far too small to use as winter deep snow protection for an adult wearing pac boots.

Gaiter bait
Very good Gaiters for the price. Fast delivery.Tested the GoreTex waterproofing on the second day I had them. Hiked up Multnomah Falls in a huge downpour. The end of the trail out to the overlook was a mudpit but my new gaiters kept my ankles dry and clean of mud below my goretex pants and poncho. My only note is that if you have thick calves you might want to get 1 size larger than normal. I ordered large and they fit but somewhat tightly so order a size up to ensure you can comfortably fit clothes under the gaiters.

great gaiters (even coming from a Nole)
I needed to step up into a larger/longer gaiter with better water/mud/muck coverage/protection. These are it. I have 2 of these now so that my GF can use a pair as well. I think they perform very well, almost as good as their $100 Goretex gaiters. Great bang for your buck with these.
