## Description

desertcart.com : 7 Ruby Road Wall Mounted Cat Scratcher, Replaceable Sisal Scratching Post | For Indoor Cats & Large Breeds — 29.5" Tall, Solid Pine with Natural Woven Sisal, No Glue or Staples, Easy Wall Mount : Pet Supplies

## Features

- A PLACE TO SCRATCH INSTEAD OF THE SOFA: Cats scratch to stretch, maintain their claws and mark territory, so give them a dedicated place to do it. Mount NERO near the spot your cat already scratches; its tall, vertical surface gives them room to reach up, stretch and dig in, as an alternative to the sofa, carpet or door frame. The wall-mounted design takes up no floor space and projects 2.5 inches from the wall, with no freestanding base to work around and a slim profile designed to blend into your home.
- REPLACE THE SISAL MAT, NOT THE SCRATCHER: Every cat shreds their scratcher eventually, and usually the whole thing ends up in the trash. NERO is built differently. Its US patented replaceable sisal mat means when the surface wears, you simply swap in a fresh mat for a fraction of the cost of a new scratcher. Replacement mats are available from 7 Ruby Road, so the scratcher your cat already loves keeps going, with less waste.
- FITS KITTENS TO MAINE COONS: At 29.5 inches, NERO gives a cat a long, unbroken run of natural woven sisal to stretch out along fully, from a full upright stretch to a deep claw pull. It’s tall and tough enough for big breeds like Maine Coons and Ragdolls, yet you mount it low for a kitten and raise it as they grow, so one scratcher grows with your cat. It works in multi-cat homes too, one sturdy surface several cats can share, and since cats are territorial, some owners add a second so everyone has their own.
- FIXED FIRM TO THE WALL FOR A FULL STRETCH: This is where your cat can really dig in. Because NERO is fixed to the wall, it holds steady while they pull against it at full vertical stretch, with no base to tip over or slide across the floor. That sturdiness comes from a solid pine and birch plywood build with a natural woven sisal surface, real wood and natural fiber. The sisal goes on with no glue and no staples, and the only fastening, the Velcro, sits flush and hidden against the wall once mounted, out of reach of curious claws. Made for cats who love to scratch hard.
- EASY TO MOUNT: NERO mounts to the wall with two screws, and a drill and screwdriver are all you need. Fix it into a wall stud with the included screws or into drywall with standard drywall anchors (not included). A stud gives the most secure hold. If you move it, it leaves just two small screw holes to fill, handy for renters. Step by step instructions and a video guide are included, and it arrives gift ready, a thoughtful cat lover gift for a housewarming or a new kitten.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do I get my cat to use the NERO instead of the sofa?**
A: Most cats take to it within days. Mount it near where they already scratch and rub catnip into the sisal. If they ignore it, it’s usually mounted too high — lower it to their reach. Wall-fixed means it never wobbles, so cats learn to trust it.

**Q: How does the replaceable sisal mat work, and how often will I replace it?**
A: When the woven sisal wears, you swap just the mat — not the unit. Lift the caps, unscrew it from the wall, change the Velcro-backed mat, re-screw the same holes. Screwdriver only, no re-drilling. Mats are $19.99; the solid pine frame lasts years.

**Q: Will the NERO hold up for a Maine Coon, or for more than one cat?**
A: Yes. At 29.5″ it gives large breeds like Maine Coons and Ragdolls a full stretch that 18–24″ posts can't. Wall mounted it stays solid under a heavy scratcher and suits multi-cat homes — sturdy enough for several cats to share.

**Q: What kind of wall do I need, and will it damage a rental?**
A: NERO mounts to a wall stud with the included fixings, or to drywall with standard anchors (not included). You'll need a drill and screwdriver. If you move it, it leaves just two small holes that patch in minutes.

**Q: Is the NERO safe for kittens and cats that chew?**
A: Yes. Plain untreated pine, natural woven sisal, birch-plywood caps with a kitty-safe finish — no glue, no staples, no loose parts. The Velcro sits flush to the wall, out of reach once mounted. Mount it low for a kitten and raise it as they grow.
