Salton Temperature Control Kettle & Tea Steeper 1.7 L/Qt

Great value! Looks nice and the best part is that there is no plastic which touches your water. The LED lights are also nice if you’re impatient as they indicate the temperature as your water boils. The temperature control is also accurate (I checked it with an external instant thermometer) and it boils quickly. This kettle is amazing value for the price and a lot nicer than more expensive ones.

The perfect kettle for me

Great little kettle, been using for about a month or so and i love the thing. Has colors for every temperature point and a thermometer built in so you can see the active temperature of the water. It looks beautiful with all the colors as it reaches temp. No rust noted so far so it must be pretty rust resistant, doesn't leak either. The only parts that come into contact with water are metal, so not much plastic rubbing off your tea or coffee, its standard size for a 1.7L kettle, fits on the counter with no issues. Over all, great value for a temperature controlled kettle.

Our family uses a LOT of boiled water for drinking tea and also preparing baby formula. With this in mind I tried to find an electric kettle with no plastic in contact with the water. This was surprisingly difficult as most kettles have plastic either in the lid or the container touching the boiling water (WHY??). This Salton only has glass or metal touching the water so was ideal. Purchased in August 2020 and it worked perfectly. Water boiled quickly and the temperature gauge/LEDs were nice. No leaks. In January of 2022, the power connection from the kettle to the base got a bit flaky. Had to keep rotating the kettle to find the proper contact point, then it stopped working entirely. I contacted Salton support, and obtaining a replacement was quick and easy, only requiring a picture of the cut cord and proof of purchase. Credit to Salton for making a kettle with minimal plastic and also for making it easy to honor the product warranty.

4 stars because there is still plastic contact with the boiling water, the led is not connected to the kettle itself and its not changing the colours with the heat. Also, a longer cord could have been cool. But again, I looked for a few kettle for a long time. Plastic free and temperature setting are the most important things to me and this one is the closest
