Labeling should have a warning
The pheromone is dissolved in a substance that is like paint remover. I sprayed it on a painted surface, on my stainless steel refrigerator door, and on some finished wood furniture. It dissolved the paint and left a stain on the fridge and the wood. Stainless appliances that are not very high end are not really stainless. It is a type of paint.I wrote to the company and told them they need to put a warning on their labeling not to use this product on these kinds of surfaces. They offered to pay for repair of the damage, but that is not what I asked for. I asked them to change their labeling. That seemed to fall on deaf ears. I think the pheromone is ok, but be careful where you spray it. It is surprising they would rather pay for damages than put a warning that would prevent them in the first place.

I've been spraying our new couch with this product daily ...
I've been spraying our new couch with this product daily, and the cats have shown no interest in clawing it. They have a couch in the basement that they ripped to shreds, and I was afraid they would do the same thing to our new one. So far the spray works. I am also using this product to reduce anxiety in one of our cats who has been marking territory in our new house (the cat is neutered). It works in combination with the calming collar and another calming spray by Nature's Miracles also purchased here on Amazon.

Be careful on wood furniture!!!
So as a threshold issue, I cannot comment on the effectiveness of the product. I started using it and discovered that it leaves a film where it is sprayed. Not a good or easy to clean film- it is one that can damage wood floors and wood furniture (china cabinet/dining table). I sprayed it on a table leg and when my cat urinated on it the next day, the stain started coming off when I scrubbed the areas sprayed with the calming spray. It might be fine if you are using it on carpet or a couch- but be careful and definitely test it out before you spray. We also bought the collars... so we will see how they work out, but no more spray for us!

Works Really Well
I had bought this by accident. I had meant to get a calming spray. I never returned it so, it just sat for months.A few weeks ago, we bought a new dinning room set. Our cats were intrigued the moment the first chair came out of the box to be assembled. By the time the 3rd chair was taking form, 2 of our cats went to town scratching the seats and back.I remembered the spray and doused the chairs in a fine mist. 2 weeks later and, although they sit in the chairs, not one of our 6 cats has scratched again.I'm convinced this stuff is magic in a bottle. Great product.

Safe for humans?
This spray may somewhat deter cats from scratching furniture, but it makes me cough so much I have to wonder whether it’s safe for humans to use, at least not without wearing a mask. In addition, the mist settled on the hardwood floors and left an unsightly film that’s difficult to remove. Spraying the inside of my cat’s carrier before a trip to the vet also had no effect on the cat. Will not buy again.

Really works!
My male kitty loves to scratch wicker furniture, chairs and hampers plus some furniture. Read about the Plug-ins but my experience and the other reviews were afraid of the plug in overheating and perhaps starting a fire sooo.....I thought I'd try the spray. It really works! He has stopped scratching the above items. I used the spray every day for about two weeks and now periodically. If he starts to scratch I grab the spray and he stops! I've bought several bottles to have on hand.

Excellent product; stops scratching
This product works well to stop scratching on all of the problem places--dining room chairs, under the bed (box spring lining), digging in houseplants, etc. The product calms the cat and the scratching stops.I wish that I had found this product earlier. It does leave a slight mark, barely visible, on white or light colored fabrics. I will buy it again.

Was sent an expired bottle
Returning this as it's expired. I have had other bottles of Comfort Zone spray used with decent success, so ordered another bottle. It contained a coupon that expired two years ago which made me worry that I was sent an old, expired bottle. I wrote the Comfort Zone company and was told to return it. Given that the coupon expired 2 years ago I can't imagine how old the product itself is. I'm disappointed because now I worry any future bottles ordered will also be old expired product.

Comfort Zone Spray saved Christmas
Not even two minutes after putting up the Christmas tree, Jimmy the Cat was chewing the pre-hung lights and climbing the tree. I couldn’t keep him away from it. I bought this spray and I can’t believe how well it works. I spray the tree every morning and Jimmy doesn’t go near it the whole day. The directions state to spray each day. Perhaps some of the negative reviews were from people who didn’t realize they need to use the spray daily. I’m so happy. I thought we wouldn’t be able to keep the tree up. Jimmy the Cat would disagree. He just hangs out with his white stuffed critter glaring annoyingly at me. I definitely would recommend this product.

Necessary stuff!
I was so excited this came today, the sixth day after ordering. Pretty fast for getting to our remote little town. (The seller was amazon itself btw)We are driving 2.5h to the vet tomorrow, with four cats who hate drives, and I only noticed at the last minute that we were nearly out of Feliway! I'm so happy we got it in time! It isn't magic, but calms them significantly which is way better than not using it.I just don't quite understand the categories of cat pheromones... is it all the same? I feel like there are at least 2 pheromones involved from the way they market the stuff. This type says it's anti-scratch but it actually works better for us than the plug-in version that comes in Classic and Multicat, for the purpose of peacekeeping. Plus, with this one, I am spared the paraffin fumes (oh my eyes and sinuses!) and fire risk of using a plug in. Plus, afterwards you have a sturdy little spray bottle. I'm definitely in love with this product!Does it work for its stated purpose, reducing scratching? Yes. I have one very nice antique persian rug, and a couple less precious ones, and a cheap, plain one. I encourage scratching on the cheap rug, and placed it at the main intersection of the home, where a cat naturally wants to place their mark. I mist this product on the nicer three rugs, very sparingly, once a week. We also have scratchers of all types everywhere. Between the designated scratching rug and the sisal posts etc, the cats are happy to stay clear of the persian rug. Now, would the spray work as well if the nice rug were the only surface in the house suitable for scratching, and was in a location that encourages scratching? I'm not sure. Why would you put a cat in such a tough situation anyway? Scratching is essential for a strong back and general good health. Please provide scratching opportunities. But yes, if you give them other options, and use this on your nice couch or rug or whatever, they WILL leave it be. And I know the spray is a crucial part of the plan because sometimes I forget for a couple weeks and then they do scratch the nice rug.I find if I get carried away with how much I use it actually seems to agitate them. Like in 1200 sq ft, I do maybe six squirts. So it lasts quite awhile. And this is a very competitive price. Worth every penny!

Potentially expired?
The product arrived today, in an envelope, but the bottle heated in transit, so I don’t know how this would affect the quality of the product. Overall the structure changes when substances are heated and cooled.Secondly, inside the box was a discount coupon that was expiring dec 2018. We are in Aug 2020...So, this begs the question- how old is the product? Is it expired? Now I’m not comfortable using it because of those 2 reasons...

Bought in Aug 2020; coupon in box was expiring Dec 2018
We have four cats and they dont always get along. Comfort Zone spray seems to work, or so says my wife. Bought product with an expired coupon, which made me suspicious that the bottle contents had expired. I called the manufacturer and they said this formulation of pheromone does not expire. Lot# was made in 2018 but still good to use. Bottle has no expiry date on it and so I think I believe them. Just letting everyone, so you dont need to waste your time looking into it as well.
