Works as described
We have used it for three weeks for post op knee surgery. The machine is quiet, easy to use and works nicely.

Use frozen water bottles
This worked exactly as advertised. It’s easy to set up and use, it’s quiet, and it assisted greatly with my knee replacement. I just passed it along to my uncle for his replacement. Tip: use 6 frozen water bottles and fill with water to the fill line. I kept six 6 other bottles in the freezer and rotated between them. No waste of ice and no dumping out the water saves time and a mess.

Extremely hard to connect hoses to ice box
This machine can work wonderfully except it has always been difficult to connect the hose to the main box holding the ice. The original configuration included two O-rings on each fitting. When I first turned it on, the fittings were very hard to connect and they leaked. I contacted Beluga and was told that it really only needed one O-ring so I could remove the end one. That arrangement worked for a few months, but now that we've started using it again, it's been very hard to connect the hose to the box again. It is now so bad that my wife has had to leave the hose connected to the box when emptying the water and refilling with ice. I tried lubricating the O-rings with silicon grease like I use on my dive tank O-rings and now I cannot get the fitting to connect without it leaking significantly, rendering the whole system inoperable. I've contacted Beluga repeatedly but get no response. It has great potential to be a highly effective cooling system, except for the fact that the connectors don't work, which means it is useless.Notice the puddle on the floor under the fitting. That was after letting it operate for 10 seconds.

Perfect post op Machine for a perfect price!
I was a little skeptical to try this since there where no reviews, but I gave it a shot. It’s awesome! Feels ICE COLD just like an ice pack. Super easy to use - plug n play! I have surgery to get my ACL reconstructed, I needed one of these machines, but they are not covered by insurance, and they are expensive. This was still more than I would have like to have payed but it’s still much cheaper and works perfect! I feel I have a peace of mind now for my recovery! It’s also made in the USA which is always a good thing! I highly recommend this product

An excellent machine, but there is something that all uses need to know
I recently badly injured my knee, resulting in it swelling up to nearly double normal size, so I bought this machine going back on my experience from over twenty years ago having used a similar unit after I had knee realignment surgery. This consists of a modified Igloo cooler with a pump unit run through the side and into the cooler compartment that circulates the water inside the cooler out through a double water line attached to the velcro-secured cuff that is wrapped around the injured body part. The cooler has two fill lines marked inside, a lower one that indicates how much water to use and a second one that indicates what level to add ice after that. For quickest and most intense cooling, ice cubes can be added directly, but I have to say that it's just a bit intense, especially if you do as I prefer and directly wrap the cooling cuff directly onto the injured body part without any clothing under it.The solution to that is to freeze ordinary 20 oz bottled water from the store and drop three of those into the cooler. That does a few things that makes this easier to use: 1) The water can be used repeatedly, 2) It's much easier and cheaper to freeze water bottles instead of having to freeze cubes or buy bags of ice, 3) The chilled water is just enough less chilled that it doesn't cause as much discomfort with the cuff directly wrapped around the body part without clothing under it.With all that said, there is an issue with this that is the only reason why I knocked this down from five stars to four stars. That issue is the infuriatingly difficult to connect quick-connect water line attaching to the cooling cuff.I'm not exaggerating about infuriating, as designed, it's nearly impossible to get the two connectors that are side-by-side connected to the cuff.I was able to determine that the problem is with the double o-ring of each connector catching on the latch mechanism, bunching up, often getting pinched, and (as happened with me) shredding the o-ring that goes deeper into the connector socket. It doesn't help that the connectors are also rather slippery, and I was at wit's end until I figured out the solution to the problem, and that solution is to remove the the o-ring on each water line that goes deeper into the quick-connector.Keep in mind that it still seals, but be sure to compress the release buttons for the connector when attaching the lines to the cuff to prevent that from catching on the remaining o-rings for each water line.Once I did that, I had no problem connecting the water lines, and water doesn't leak. This makes it far easier to use when making trips to the bathroom or otherwise getting up to eat for other reasons while leaving the cuff on.This machine is fantastic once everything is set up, and it's vastly superior to painkillers that pose a problem in and of themselves, especially because this machine also greatly reduces inflammation to promote healing.Again, please do yourself a huge favor and remove the o-rings on each line on the cuff that goes deeper into the quick connectors, leaving the o-rings on connector that don't go as deeply into the corresponding socket, as that will still sufficiently seal the water lines.

Great alternative to ice packs
Easy to use and set up! Allows me much more time to ice my knee than traditional ice packs

This connection keeps disconnecting
The media could not be loaded. I ordered this so I would have it for my knee replacement on Jan2. I’m so disappointed that the connection in the picture keeps going off. It won’t stay on long enough to fill .

CRAP! Stopped working again!
This product is CRAP! Stopped working again! I had a Polar Ice machine in 2007 (for a knee surgery) that worked great! Unfortunately I let my now ex-brother-in-law use it and never got it back. Purchased this brand in April for post surgery care for my knee instead of the Polar Ice because they look, operate and serve the same purpose, as well that it was less expensive with $100 difference. For the most part it worked fine, but for whatever reason the line would not pull the water and push it into knee padding at times. I'd have to stir the ice and water, power off and on multiple times, then it'd eventually start working again. Just had foot surgery mid-December, had ordered the foot/ankle attachment and the same issue began happening. Today 12/27/22 it won't pull any water even though the motor turns on.👎🏼👎🏼
