Really simple procedure to replace. Comfortable fit too. My XM2's we're still holding up after 6yrs, until all the poor weather recently. These replacements came in very handy. Would buy again.

These replacement ear pads turned my old and jaded Sony WH-1000XM2's into bright almost new looking headphones. Brilliant.

I have had my WH1000 XM2 for over five years and mainly used on travels. The ear pads started peeling and looking quite worn and looked embarrassing in public. I was considering upgrading to either the XM4 or XM5, bur came across these replacement pads.I was a little nervous, removing the original air pads for the first time. Cleaned the speaker sponge, and fitted the replacement pads. The exercise wasn’t as traumatic. When fitting the new pads, ensure the pads click, firmly in place all round.My expectation was the replacement was never going to be as plush and comfortable as the original. Therefore, at this price point, they may not deliver the same quality of noise cancelling. But they do provide acceptable comfort and I would conclude very useable.It does mean, my XM2s now have an extended life, instead of been designated to the bin!

I'm surprised at how good these are for the price. I only have them 3 weeks, but so far so good. The old earpads had flaked over time (after about 2 years I think). I'm not expecting these to last as long. I perspire when exercising and I use these exercising, so if I get 9mths out of them I'll be happy.Much easier to remove the old pads and replace than I expected, the small tool and instructions are very clear, so I was done in minutes.The noise cancelling is very close if not the same as the originals as far as I can tell. This was a concern for me. I work from home and need them to be good at blocking out external sounds.The sound of podcasts, and music is no different.The comfort is about the same, and the fit of the pads is good.It's early days, but so far well worth it. If you're thinking of replacing the headset these could save you some money. I have the XM5s (got them free from work) but I still prefer my XM2s so was delighted to be able to extend the life of the older headset with these pads.Update: Have these two months now, wearing them a lot and still going well.

Very good replacement

If you really need a set of replacement ear pads, do a little more research than I did. These pads fit perfectly, but in every other way, worse than the original ear pads that came with the headphones.The original ear pads were comfortable and cool, meaning I could happily wear the headphones all day. These earpads are less comfortable (too firm) and don’t allow your skin to breath (sweaty). They’re cheap and feel it.

The old protectors were easy to remove with the tool that was provided. And the new ones easily click in.They feel the same as the original ones.
