Got it for reading can't fault well made sturdy

Easy to put together and the lamps (bought 2) are good looking.Cord is hidden away in the tube (I hate exposed wires when they can be hidden)

Wanting to avoid sizing errors I measured the space prior to purchase, and even checked the weight to make sure it would be sturdy. I highly suspect it's lighter than it states in the description. And, after having put the item in it's required spot I could immediately tell it was smaller than I'd measured. The photo states 154 by 34, it's infact 146 by 26 - a significant difference.The weight of the arm/shade also means it tilts to one side - presumably the base isn't as weighted as it should be to evenly distribute when the arm is extended.The plug and switch feel a bit cheap and flimsy but you get what you pay for I guess.I'm awaiting the sellers response, I could've been sent the wrong one but it looks the same bar the measurements and ultimately it's probably been a waste of time, esp if I have to mess about returning it due to a listing error.

I only review items I'm either very happy with or very disappointed with. I'm very pleased with this item, because it's attractive and gives a good deal of flexibility with positioning. Mine is parked behind a cuddle couch and the arm can be swung over the couch for reading or pushed back, while watching tv. If I had one suggestion, it would be to facilitate the position of the switch which is located in the middle of a trailing flex, so it sits on the floor as a foot switch. I taped the switch half way up the stand so I can access it without pulling the couch out. It works anyway and is out of sight behind the couch. It's a great item and looks far more expensive than it cost.

Lights

The lamp is ok and we will keep it but the quality is a little disappointing. I had read some good reviews and it was the style I was looking for so decided to buy it. The metal seems soft when assembling and even once securely screwed together it isn't straight. I don't want to correct it with too much force for fear of bending and breaking the metal, which as mentioned seemed soft. It is quite easy to bend. This isnt a super solid, robust, heavy floor lamp, but isn't light like a plastic one. It does have a weighted base but is still easy to move and lift. The shade isn't a nice beige, its quite yellow. We will definitely be looking for a different shade. It may not matter to some, but it didnt work with our configuration that the arm only swings in one direction which is a little annoying. I also wish it came in different finishes as a dull brass colour would have been ideal. I'm still debating whether to change the finish with 'rub'n'buff' european gold to get a closer finish to dull brushed brass

Value for money looks really good
