Reliable and efficient, but pricey
I purchased this power adapter as a replacement for my MacBook Pro, and it has worked flawlessly since day one. It’s specifically designed for the 13-inch Retina display model, and the MagSafe 2 connector is a standout feature. The magnetic connection is strong and snaps into place easily, preventing accidental disconnections if the cord gets tugged. The adapter charges quickly and consistently, and I’ve noticed no overheating or performance issues. The build quality is solid, and the cord length provides enough flexibility for most setups. Additionally, the foldable prongs make it compact and easy to travel with. The main downside is the price—it’s significantly more expensive than third-party alternatives. However, for peace of mind and compatibility with Apple devices, I feel the cost is justified.I’d highly recommend this power adapter to anyone needing a reliable replacement for their MacBook Pro. While the price may be steep, the quality and compatibility make it a worthwhile investment, especially if you use your laptop daily.

Apple Quality for Apple Price
I bought this cord by Apple because I wanted a sure thing. I browsed through the no-name, universal plugs and was disheartened by the negative reviews. I also didn't want to get a non-Apple cord that could possibly damage my computer. This cord was definitely not cheap and as my computer is old and needs to be replaced soon, you might argue that I wasted my money. But my computer has a lot of important stuff on it and I just couldn't risk it. When I received the cord in its pristine Apple box and wrapping, perfectly packed... and then it snapped into my computer perfectly, I knew I'd made the right choice. The cord is long and spotlessly white. My computer has had no issues charging since I've been using it. I paid for exactly what I wanted, Apple quality.

Perfect replacement for my original one
The charger cable got mangled when my son decided to try to pull the cord under a door when he was walking with it. Grabbed this as a replacement and it worked perfectly!

What else is there?
An Apple Product for the MacPro laptop: It's perfect, while it works. The cable at the computer end seems designed to fray and open, making the power supply inoperative. It could be stronger, it could have a strain relief, it could be made detachable, but, no. It's made with Planned Obsolescence built in. You can’t replace five bucks worth of cable, so you must buy a fifty dollar power adapter. Bah! This is my third power supply in ten years. No excuse, but "What are ya' gonna do? Where are ya' gonna go?" And, oh, it looks beautiful.

For those who own Macbooks earlier than 2009 don't get this/won't fit!
Life is pretty depressing with the entire failure of Apple making and having chargers for all of the Macbooks for over the years. I bought a Macbook because they are tough, well made items. But the chargers WERE NOT AND ARE NOT. There is a sea of research Mac owners have to go through to find the right charger and only Apple approved to use. So I have in all desperation bought knock off chargers that are not and were not approved for use. So if I wanted my Macbook to work I had to buy a un-approved, non Apple product. But again I am having to buy another charger. And so I tried this one as it was the oldest Apple approved charger. But it wasn't old enough. I got them fast. (I buy 2 at a time when I find them because I know that the charger will not work soon enough). I was told by Apple that they did not have any charger for my Macbook but I could call around to see if any Apple store or Mac repair person had any in their stock/back rooms. Oh joy. NOT! So I didn't run down that rabbit hole. I bought these instead and in no way shape or form did these work. Wrong size 2 Safe Mag magnetic head for a late 2008. Packed the one I opened back up and sent back to Amazon via UPS. Was told no shipping label was needed. The UPS trucker was going to make the label out in his truck. Hope that happens. Got my return confirmation number written on the return package. Hope this all works out. But again: Shame on you Apple for not engineering, manufacturing and selling ALL chargers for ALL of your products. If you think that by now my 2008 Macbook doesn't work ... and I haven't traded up for a newer one as it seems your business plan is to target that particular buying power and pool ... you are dead wrong. I bought Apple because the products are work dogs and work forever. You should ask me how old my WORKING G5 is? I bought it in 2003! Well if I were to replace it now, I would have to have $65,000 to spare. Damn. What the hell? Nothing works without power Apple! Not one damn thing, no matter how awesome the products are and when they were created and sold. Guess it's time to go back to some knock off and pray it works.

Genuine Apple!!
It is a genuine Apple Product in the original box with plastic seal still intact. It works great on my MacBook Pro (late 2012 model) and is even improved over the original. You can now disconnect the large gauge wire with the 3 prong plug from the adaptor. The adaptor now also has a 2 prong plug built right into it. So as another commentator noted, it's like getting 2 adaptors really: a lengthier version with the 3 prong plug inserted into the adaptor or a shorter 2 prong plug version. Very happy with is so far but I do notice that it still has the original flaw which ruined my old one. The smaller gauge wire does not disconnect and so it can get loose over time as it gets stressed during normal use. Can only hope that Apple strengthened that connection as well but only time will tell.
