Love me a good Caran d'Ache pen. My dad buys the limited editions pens throughout the year and gifts them to family. I have several of them and needed black ink for work (rather than the blue they come with). No scratching or smudging. Comfortable writing.

Came in a clear plastic bag, couldn't see when it was produced but works well for now.

Easy to install

Bought the Gel based ink refills, ok but found them quite scratchy, certainly not as smooth as the standard ink refills.

While writing with this refill the ink cuts out half way through words. Not sure why.

Bought these, in error really.. I wanted ball point refills, but got gel ones instead. That's fine... But they frequently fail to deliver ink to the page, a fundamental feature of a pen. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

These fit into the awesome (and super cool) pens my husband bought me for Christmas — and these refills actually flow better than the originals.

These are priced pretty reasonably compared to the competition for this type of ink cartridge. The ink is very nice and dark, and very smooth. These have been the best of this type (metal cartridge gel refills) that I have tried so far. Most of the others started off really nice, but after a week or 2 of use, the ink would become splotchy and occasionally stop flowing. These refills from Bastion have been very consistent after a month of use and are nothing short of excellent.That said, I still prefer the much cheaper (and dare I say, better) Pilot G2 refills, but not all pens can fit the Pilot refills. All-in-all, these perform very favorably to the Pilot G2 refills. Highly recommend, and will buy again.

Worked great had a hard time finding the right refill

Very solid pen. Smooth writing. Also doubles as an impact weapon. If your into that kind of thing I mean. Its like a mini aluminum bat.
