Less Than Stellar Experience
I really wanted to like this product and company. I received a faulty battery with my light and had to use one from one of my other lights. I messaged the company to let them know that the battery was faulty and I need a replacement. They wanted me to take a video of myself charging the battery rather than just replacing it for me. I returned the product immediately. I can't imagine what I would have to go through to get the tail switch or light head replaced under warranty.

Surefire Scout compatible parts, but more "throw" than Surefire
I bought the body and head separately because I had a Surefire tape switch I wanted to use with it. I didn't save much money doing it that way but I did get to experiment a bit with parts compatibility.I mixed and matched the Weltool body and flashlight head with Scout light parts - it worked well. The biggest difference I see between the Scout head and the Weltool head, is the reflector of the Weltool unit is deeper and gives a more concentrated spot of light than the scout. The LED also has a higher color temperature than the Scout. The Scout light is warmer with a brighter spill area, where the Weltool is cooler with a much brighter and smaller central focus area. The Weltool spill area is dimmer but still useable.I like this light and recommend it with the caveat that I haven't used it at the range yet. The construction is very good and I have hopes that it will prove as sturdy as the Scout light competition.

Great!
I like that it has a very focused beam for longer distance. Very similar to a modlite okw but stronger. If you're looking for more flood and less throw go with their lh8. This has the Lh1 head that has higher candela but less lumens.

Pretty good WML but not on par with description
Its relatively light (in weight lol) and has a decent hot spot. But it does not seem to live up to the standards described in the specifications. However, this is not a bad light. I have a Cloud Defensive REIN full size that I can compare it to, which in my opinion is the best overall WML at this time. The REIN has a warmer light and has a much better flood in peripheral areas, so the blinding light on the receiving end would cover more ground. The REIN also has a great hot spot. The Weltool has a hot spot similar in brightness right in the middle, slightly smaller in diameter, cooler in color, but has less peripheral brightness outside of the center. The REIN is better for close to medium distances, good for long too. The Weltool would be fine for medium to long, but for home defense, maybe consider a light with better flood. Honestly it would be fine, i’m just splitting hairs. A big disclaimer here: I upgraded the body of the Weltool. I got the larger W65 body that takes 18650 batteries, and i got very good batteries. This Weltool here is the W35 body (smaller 18350) and therefore the battery does drain very quickly as described in another review. This head performs slightly better with the bigger body and the battery drain is not an issue as well. I also purchased the LEP (Laser Excited Phosphor) head which is good for a concentrated hot spot at distance, not home defense. However, the LEP also does not live up to the company specifications. Nonetheless, it is good and i’m happy i have it. So the interchangeable head options is cool. You can also get an infrared head for night vision assitance for use with night vision equipment. I’m not going to return it because i like everything i just described, but i would consider surefire, Olight, Cloud Defensive, etc. if i was in the market again.
