Greenest Lawn on the Block
Provides a nice green color when soaks into ground. A bag covers my front and back lawns. Best lawn on the block. Good value and easier to have delivered to my door. Saves having to carry myself from store. Scott is a great product and use all their fertilizers.

Lawn appears healthier...
The grass got greener... as for the turf builder part, the jury is still out. I haven't seen evidence of it yet.

A Must-Have for a Lush Lawn!
I can't say enough good things about Scotts Turf Builder WinterGuard Fall Lawn Fertilizer. After using it for the first time last fall, my lawn came back in the spring looking healthier and greener than ever before. This stuff really works to nourish the grass roots and prepare them for the harsh winter months. It was easy to spread and the coverage area was perfect for my yard size. My lawn looks incredibly thick and vibrant, and I'm convinced this is the reason. If you want a beautiful lawn next spring, this is the fertilizer you need to put down in the fall.

Is winterizer fertilizer necessary?
I'm in NC and fescue lawns go through much stress in July, August is due to excessive heat and the drying of the root system. Although I will fertilize in the spring and then again in the fall is a good practice, winterize your fescue before the hard freeze sets in. Which for us in NC is around the end of November. This is so important, that if you only fertilize your lawn once this year, make sure you do it in November and don;t forget to water it. I have followed this practice and for the last 5 years my fescue has made through the summer like a champ. I will usually purchase whatever is the least expensive, as the thing that I compare are the levels. Winter fertilizer will have 28% Nitrogen, 6% potash, 3% sulfur so anything with those level will be fine. This product coverage is 12,000 square feet, which was enough for me, and the current price is fantastic. Your lawn will thank you, and you'll love the look of it in the spring.

Well worth the price.
This fertilizer is excellent. This brought my grass to life in late fall and even as winter has started and it is 25 degrees outside, the grass is still bright green and not growing wild. Absolutely amazing.

Good to help dormant summer grass recover.
The instructions on the bag say to apply after you’re done watering for the season. I applied last November and did notice any difference in the grass. I still had half a bag left over, so in March of this year I applied it again, if for no other reason than to use it up. Two weeks later and the grass in those areas have definitely greened up and are actively growing at a faster rate than the untreated areas. Based on my own experience, I would have to call this a late winter fertilizer to be applied before it becomes regular lawn care season. That’s the timeframe before you’ve done the spring clean up and started watering the grass.
