John W. Schaum Piano Course: B -- The Blue Book

I used this series to learn piano when I was a kid, now I'm teaching my kids

The Schaum Piano piano series is a very professional, methodical, yet uncomplicated way to learn piano. I am teaching myself (with occasional input from a neighbor who is an accomplished pianist) and preferred to explore the traditional routine via Schaum, the one my children used when they were learning, instead of the methods typically used for adult courses. I have been able to complete fluently, with practice, of course, the various levels beginning with the most basic with very little difficulty because the instruction is clear and there are diagrams and pictures to enhance understanding. Schaum has been in the business of educating budding pianists for many, many years, and that is obvious from the systematic approach taken in the books. By starting at the beginning of each book and working my way carefully according to instruction through each piece, I feel very comfortable and confident by the time I get to the end of the book.The book arrived very soon after I ordered it, which I expected, because Amazon. is very reliable.

Easy progression from one song to the next. Songs become more complex with interesting melodies as I worked my way through the book. During CV my piano teacher was unable to continue in-person lessons. On her recommendations, I have purchased three of the beginning Schaum series. I will buy the next series once I have completed all three books.

Needed it for my nieces piano lessons , she loves it

I used these books when I took piano lessons back in 3rd grade until 7th grade when I started at an arts high school for piano and didn't need private lessons anymore as I took classes on piano. My mom ended up selling my whole set of books in a garage sale as I barely play piano anymore because I'm six years out of high school and I lost interest. I wanted to rebuy the entire set to get back into piano! This book is in perfect condition! Great purchase!
