Minimalist Syntax: Exploring the Structure of English (Cambridge Textbooks in Linguistics)

I first encountered Radford's handling of Minimalist Syntax (in an earlier and abbreviated version of this 2004 text) as a student in a Syntax class at ASU and thought it was great then. Since then, i've acquired and read through many of Chomsky's original works, including 'The Minimalist Program' (from the '90s), which is quite dense and not very friendly to the non-PhD candidate. (Chomsky's more recent 'Language and Mind' and 'On Nature and Language' are much more accesible.) Radford's 2004 treatment of Minimalist Syntax is much more accessible than and not nearly so dense (being 100 pages longer) & obscure as Chomsky's own. Furthermore, i feek Radford's is more useful in and relevant to contemporary linguistics.[One further note -- the Kindle version of this book comes in the Topaz format (.tpz) instead of the usual .azw3 format for other current Kindle books, making it less compatible with other devices.]
