Beautiful, Excellent Feel, and A Dream To Write With
I'm reviewing this as a casual user of nice pens. Great fountain pens can cost thousands of dollars, and they're completely out of my league. I just wanted a nice fountain pen at an affordable price, and this one is lovely. It's beautiful to look at, and the red lacquer has a great feel, both in texture and weight. Fountain pens should have a notable heft to them, and this one does. It also writes like a dream, so smoothly and flawlessly.I've favored Parker writing instruments for fifty years. My favorite mechanical pencil is a Parker all-stainless that dates to the 1970s, and I guard it way out of proportion to its price at the time. Its durability and beauty induced me to pick this Parker Sonnet fountain pen, and that was the right decision.I do wish Parker offered its ink in a variety of colors besides black and blue. I prefer using cartridges for ink, and I'm hesitant to try other brand cartridges in this pen.

Really smooth. Consistent wet line.
This pen is nice! It’s balanced nicely. It is easy to ink. Its line is clean and constant. The nib is firm but I don’t do calligraphy. It caps firmly and starts up instantly after a couple weeks capped (the longest I’ve tried). Cleans easily. Feels very solid.

Lives up to the Parker name
Good looking pen. Feels right in the hand. Writes very smoothly.

Skips on the downstroke, brand new, second Parker pen, same issue.
This pen was supposed to be an upgrade to my starter pens, but both of them write better than this one, even though they were much cheaper to buy. This pen is nothing but a big disappointment, and I have had a similar experience with Parker pens, namely intermittent skipping, even after replacing the cartridge and flushing the nib assembly with water. Of the five Parker pens I have, two of them write perfectly fine, but three of them skip, pretty poor. I cannot recommend Parker fountain pens, when you have a 60% chance of getting a bad one, in my experience.
