Does what it says, monitors electricity use.
I have waited a long time to get a monitor as my old one went wrong many years ago. Suddenly this one was back in stock so I grabbed while I could. It was the one I had been watching for a while. You will need to follow the instruction booklet to set it up correctly. On first using you'll need to plug it onto power to get the main unit to talk to cable sensor. Be warned it is a USB connector and you don't get the 3 pin plug bit, luckily I had a spare. I am really impressed with this unit, it gives a good reading and I like the fact that I can move the main unit about as long as it is in range to cable sensor. I choose the 1x 12mm cable sensor as that is all that most people will need. It is amazing how you watch it as you walk by, seeing what is using energy. It is a great device to highlight when an electrical appliance is not functioning properly, e.g a faulty fridge where the compressor is constantly running. Well worth the purchase.

Works well once you have got it paired.
I received this a day earlier than quoted, the unit is well made and as far as I can tell accurate, however the instructions to set it up and pair to the transmitter could be better, they don't mention for instance that the transmitter has a switch in the battery compartment, which must be switched to the correct channel, half a day later and i managed to pair the two together and everything is now working very well

l purchased the meter to review the electrical loading of my house.
The meter does what it states, there are two issues l have with this product. l sent two emails to their support address, l am still awaiting a reply. The main point they say install a 5V DC/USB supply, but there are so many pin connections you can purchase but they don’t confirm what pin type you should use. Without this supply the meter does not stay illuminated.

Not sure
The meter is fine, and logs the load well. The WiFi connection is solid. However I may be missing something here, my KWH rate is 26.28p per KWH. The meter doesn’t seem to go up to that value when I input the settings, any ideas cos all it’s fit for is a meter

Fundamental flaw
Purchased to replace my old Geo energy monitor. However this uses a CT to measure consumption. Challenge is I have solar panels and at times send power back to the grid. Both consumption and grid power both register as consumption giving you a completely inaccurate history and real time consumption. The unit is extremely cheaply made too. Based on the quality and lack of ability to accommodate for solar grid feed it is not good value for me:

Excellent low cost electicity usage data logger
The Efergy E-Max is an esy to use usage data logger with a large colour screen. It is very easy to fit and the support from the supplier was excellent.

Accurate and straightforward
I bought this to specifically monitor and record the power usage by a Tesla wall charger. Setup is very straightforward (just ask your installer which cable to clip onto). Display is big, clear and generally intuitive. Data is downloadable via usb only so no app with the Emax kit.Two tips...1. To set up the options, press and HOLD the centre button for a few seconds (not clear in the instructions) then a quick tap to cycle through and adjust the good range of options provided.2. The final option to adjust the calibration does need setting. At the 100% default it was over-reading my consumption; at 98% it is now pretty damn accurate! The photo shows the size comparison with a standard smart meter.

Doesn't come with a USB mains adapter.
Does not come with a usb adapter. If, like me, you want to plug the monitor into a mains socket you need to buy extra kit. I purchased "ameego CE Certificated Travel Adaptor White 5V 1A 3PIN Universal UK Plug USB Port AC Power Adaptor". It works with the monitor. It's the correct voltage. I was disappointed that this cheap and small adapter isn't included in the kit. All efergy need to do, for a few extra quid, is include one of these in the box (there's loads of free space) and you're good to set it up immediately. Cheapskate really JMHO.
