Question 1

I am powering this off a motion sensor and it has a lot of buzzing/clicking when on. I remove the motion sensor, it works fine. What am i doing wrong?

Several things could be the problem. Ensure that the motion sensor puts out AC rather than DC. Also, that it is connected as the only power source for the the coil. That is the side connectors. One side Hot the other Nuetral/Ground. The Volt also need to be 120-110 If you have a voltage drop through the sensor that could also cause the malfunction. properly working it will have a loud cluck sound when it turns on and off but otherwise it not make any unusual sound.

The Actual, Factual, and measured Coil current at 110VAC is .04 amps or about 4 watts.The Coil does not draw .5 amps or 55 watts.

Do 120 volt contactors normally get very warm in use?  Mine gets rather hot on the bottom, even with no load on the switch.

Some contactors have temperature rise ratings of 50-60 degrees CELSIUS, so yeah, they can get pretty damn hot. I can't find ratings for the Packards, but Schneiders will go to at least 50C, which means that they'll get to a temperature that much above ambient. Of course if ambient is already scorching then you're looking at problems. On the other hand, I have a packard contactor with a 240V coil that I'm running at the specified voltage and in a tiny sealed box, and the whole thing only gets up to 107 F, in a hot garage, so I can't say for your case.  Can you measure it? Numbers are what's important.
