Luxurious, Excellent for Sensitive, Eczema-Prone Skin (1 Caveat)
This is one of those products where the experience starts before you even open it. The bottle is a stunner. The thick glass, a well-designed anti-theft thick retail-box, it just looks very luxe. If you care about your vanity aesthetic, this absolutely is such a charm to look at. Reaching for it makes me excited about the daily routine rather than just rountine. The serum itself is lightweight, silky, and slightly runny, which I personally prefer for layering. My sensitive, eczema-prone skin drank this up immediately. It delivers deep hydration without heaviness, helps calm redness, and leaves my skin looking healthier and subtly dewy rather than greasy. For compromised skin barriers - the redness, stinging, dehydration - comes calendula juice and a lotttt of ingredients to make this serum. Using calendula juice instead of plain water as the base, plus centella, licorice root, and multiple botanical extracts, it has it's perks...but also this gets me to the main and only draw-down... My only real drawback is the scent. While there’s no added synthetic fragrance, the concentration of botanical and herbal ingredients gives it a bitter root-herbal-medicinal smell. Maybe that's just MY nose but I have to put it out there, it's stinky! It definitely does not smell citrusy to me, despite what the listing says. The scent isn’t very offensive, but it does linger briefly after application. For eczema-prone or reactive skin like mine, this is about as close to a gold standard as I’ve personally found. The results on me (albeit short term) was deep hydration, a healthier glow, less redness and more plump dewy glow right after use. I'm not sure about anti-aging benefits - that will take time. It is very pricey especially investing to repeat purchases but it's understandable to be honest. 4.9 out of 5.

Not bad, but not for me
I have very sensitive skin and I’m also sensitive to scents, so I’m always on the lookout for skincare that’s genuinely gentle and unscented. That’s what initially made the Tata Harper Superkind Bio-Barrier Serum sound so promising, especially since it’s marketed for sensitive skin. After testing it for about a week, I’d say it’s a good-quality product, but not the best match for me personally. The texture is on the oilier side for a serum, and with my combination skin it doesn’t fully absorb the way I want a serum to. It leaves a bit of a lingering layer, which might be great for someone who’s drier, but on me it felt like it just sat on top of my skin instead of sinking in. Scent-wise, this is where I was a little disappointed. Even though it’s not “scented” in the traditional sense, I can still smell the lavender extract in it, along with another herbal note I can’t quite identify. It’s not strong like perfume, but if you’re very fragrance-sensitive (like I am), it’s noticeable. The good news is that it didn’t irritate my skin during my test period. No redness, stinging, or breakouts, which is always my biggest concern when trying something new. But between the heavier feel and the noticeable scent, I don’t think this serum is a great fit for my skin type or preferences. For the price, it needs to be amazing, and the value just isn't there for me. Overall, it seems like it could work well for someone with sensitive, dry skin who likes a more nourishing, barrier-focused serum, but for combination skin and scent-sensitive people, it may not be the perfect match.

Would not recommend for sensitive or reactive skin types
I have very sensitive skin and allergic to many different products. After tolerating a small sample patch, I applied to my face and broke out in hives then small red bumps around my nose and mouth. I was disappointed as this was marketed toward reactive skin but didn’t work out for me.

Luxurious Serum
I am very happy with the Tata Harper Superkind Bio-Barrier Serum. I use this under my eyes and on my upper lids. I have somewhat sensitive skin (particularly in this area) and have not experienced any irritation at all. This is not thick cream, but rather a silky serum that absorbs quickly. I did not notice any scent, and it glides on very well. One pump does both eyes, so I imagine that this bottle will last a while. I apply this serum after cleaning my face in the evenings before bed and in the morning before applying my makeup. This is a high quality, premium serum (as the price point suggests). The Bio-Barrier serum leaves the delicate skin around my eyes soft and hydrated. I am very pleased with the effects so far!

No artificial fragrance, but there is definitely a strong natural scent
I have mixed feelings about this barrier serum. While I appreciate it being approved as hypoallergenic, I felt like the plethora of natural ingredients was a but overwhelming scent-wise. The serum is runny, and more on the oily side than the creamy side. This is likely due to sunflower oil being the third ingredient on the list. Farther down the list there's shea butter, and several more oils. With the added lavender extract and calendula extract my nose was just going nuts. I don't think it deserves to be marked down to three stars, but I'm having a really tough time with the blend of natural scents. If there maybe were less extracts or something (I honestly don't even know) I just wouldn't feel like its Woodstock on my skin barrier. I'm just a sensory person though and it's overwhelming. Because this serum is a blend of a lot of different oils it doesn't absorb well, and my skin has a shiny glow; maybe a bit more than I would like. I do appreciate that it has been working to soften my skin. It really is a high quality product, there's a lot of love in these ingredients. I think it's too expensive for its own good. It's just not a reasonable price for anyone to be repeatedly ordering this every time it runs out. Bonus: Comes in a really pristine glass bottle. Looks beautiful on the shelf.
