Although jerk baits are not new, they are relatively new to me. I brought two or three of these Rapala shadow-raps Up to Ontario Canada for a flying fishing trip and they did not disappoint. My very first cast I simply reeled down 2 or 3 times and then retrieved with a jerk-jerk-pause cadence and landed A northern Pike that was probably 30+ inches. Throughout the week anytime I stop to cast the shadowrap Was my go to and frequently produced. My only tip is while you are on the pause, vary the amount of time you pause and also slowly reel in the slack line. Most of the time fish hit on the pause so if you slowly take up the slack you can feel the hit and know to set the hook. Very easy to fish and it just plain works.

It is good. However, the hooks are cheap and straighten easily and need to be replaced. Avoid making mistakes with this lure like casting on the rocks. It will crack easily.
