Not up to the standards expected from Alpine
I recently had this amp/sub installed in my car. While I was not expecting a lot of power, I was expecting good audio quality. I have to say that both power (even with my low expectation) and quality are quite disappointing. At first I thought the issue was my car’s audio system, but upon connecting my phone directly to the amp via bluetooth, I got the same precarious sound. It is still a somewhat improvement of what I had before, but definitely not worth the price. I have owned Alpine devices before and all of them have always amazed me. Not this one.I wish I could return it, but I already paid $380 to have it installed (how could I test the sound otherwise?). So now pretty much stuck with it. Avoid this one. :-(Update: After spending a bit of time fine tu. Ing the sub and amp (crossovers, eq, phase, etc) it is now sounding better. Bass still breaks bad at relatively low volumes, but it’s sort of decent. If you want a low power, but relatively good sound quality and price is not an issue, this might work for you. I’m upgrading to 3 stars.Update2: after several hours of adjusting the settings and improving the acoustics of the installation I’m finally getting to enjoy what this toy has to offer. While my initial experience was not the best, now after proper calibration I’m quite impressed by this amp/sub. Once again, if price is not an issue and if you are patient to properly adjust it, this will be a very good purchase. Go for it. Upgrading to 4 stars.

Very happy
I bought the pwes8 when it came out. This is far better. To make a factory system better and don't need to shake the ground, this fits the bill. Installation isn't too abusive to the vehicle. Couldn't be happier.

Would buy again
Fits under my 2016 Honda Accord passenger seat like a glove. The bass it put out is very clean. Was very surprised on how much it enhance the sound to my 4 other speakers.
