Its my first FF and honestly one of the best reads of the year.I've said it before about Liza, and I'll say it again and again. Her writing is flawless and captivates you from the first page. You could feel the emotions throughout this story, so raw and so beautiful.Aura is complacent in her life, living with her boyfriend of 2 years and their best friend Bethie. This has got to be one of the most dark and disturbing books I have ever read,but also the most erotic and hot book too!!!!!!. Aura and Ruby's story unfolds from the dark depths of disturbing pasts that they both share and their fight against all the odds to bring a true love that they both realize is their only way to win against the pure evil that they must face. Read this book it will leave you both horrified and fighting to get your breath back as the next orgasm crashes over your body

I’ve been struggling to get into books again and I was looking for an lgbtq story that would entice me and god this was the book. Without spoilers,the book is based around the relationship between Ruby and Aura- not only that- but their transformation into the people they become. Strong, powerful women. It is also about how Aura struggles to release the hold that The Nation (a cult) holds on her and her life. It introduces other aspects such as PTSD and anxiety, as well as rape, drug abuse and child abuse. Sex is a big part of the book, however I feel it illustrates the connection between the characters whether it be good or bad. This book has made me cry, gasp, and ponder on many topics that it presents and all of them tie so well with each other. The plot twists are crazy and unpredictable, however not out of place. I would love to know about where Liza James got the idea for the cult to be a big part of the romance and whether it was inspired by a story or a real experience. I could talk about this book for hours, and I would recommend this book to anyone (of course after reading the trigger warnings as it talks about many sensitive topics in detail.) This is one of my top books, and I am ecstatic to read the sequel.

Really well written

Right...well...this one came out of nowhere and carved my heart out of my chest.With a spoon.Slowly.And then made me beg for more.I have read a lot of books with similar storylines and as much as I’ve enjoyed them, they didn’t make me feel the way this one did.I felt such intense emotions that I had to put the book down once or twice to detach myself from it.Now you might be thinking that it’s because of how dark or violent it is - but it’s not.Well, it is dark and has some seriously violent and disturbing scenes (which I loved) but it was because I felt such rage!Such uncontrollable fury.It ripped feelings from me that I thought were well buried and wounds that I thought were healed.As you may know, I really don’t trigger easily but this one got under my skin and in my head so well that I had to take calming breaths.AURAAura’s story is not an easy one to read.She was raised in a cult by some seriously messed up people who believe their way is the only way.Their beliefs are the truth.As she came of age she had to undergo her initiation and what happened there was just...ugh,So now she’s in her 20s and has escaped and is trying to throw off the cloud that the cult had over her and try to forget, move on and heal.She has a boyfriend and her best friend is always around too.She has a job as a photographer and life seems to be getting better...kinda.One night she decides to try something different and they go to a strip club.Where she meets Ruby.Her life just got turned upside down.RUBYRuby is bold, brave, and amazing.She is fierce, proud and strong.She gives zero cares what you think and lives her life for her.Because she too had demons to beat and leave behind.Except that one of them found her and is a daily torture.She sees Aura one night and just instantly knows the connection between them is real and it shakes her to her core.She’s so drawn to Aura she can’t help but engage with her.But she shouldn’t because if her ‘demon’ realises she cares about someone, he’ll mess her up just to get to Ruby,Damn! This girl goes through some hell!FINAL THOUGHTS on VIBE by Liza JamesWhat an amazing book! It had me vibrating with anger at the mind games and manipulation.5 star
