I bought the S/M size hat which states that that size covers 6 5/8 to 7 1/8. I'm a 6 7/8 size but I had to add a liner for it to fit my head. So it will depend on your head size, But I really like the hat for sun protection. It also has a chin strap attached with it so you can hold your hat on your head when it gets windy.

In my opinion, it is a true khaki color, maybe a darker khaki. Mine is two years old, and has been washed many times, and does look darker when it is wet, but dries much lighter. It could also be lighter because it is in fact two years old and has been worn out in the sun and washed several times.

You need to measure his head. My guess would be a small/medium. This is the smallest had.

No it is just a strap under the chin. I will tell you I have order this hat twice the first time I ordered for the softball team and had no issues. The second time I ordered for a few of the new girls and 2 out of the 5 had missing metal pieces around the holes is the best way to describe it. Over all I we happy with this hat just know that you might have issues and need to contact them.
