Replacement for my old Panasonic System
It was time to buy a new cordless system. My old Panasonic cordless system started failing with 2 of 3 handsets dying. I had it a long time. This new Panasonic system is basically the same but with an extra handset (4 total). Easy to set up and so far happy with quality and performance. Good price point.

Many Positive Features
This Panasonic set is our second set in 21 years. We replaced our previous set to catch up with technology. The features, which I won’t list here because they are listed accurately in the description, add value to the phone’s performance. The individual volume control of the base and the handhelds is a great feature, as well as the ability to silence a phone’s ring. Two phones in the same room (as a living room) where two people have one by their favorite chair, is a great time to use that feature.Great phone set; highly recommend.

What a Deal!
As I researched the current offerings from Panasonic that offer features that help to combat robocalls, I came across this model. It has all the most up to date capabilities, but is being offered for one third the price of the most recent models. When I checked out the operating instructions they apply to both this model and the newer ones (models KX-TGF973B/KX-TGF975B). There are no differences in features or functionality between them, except this model is rated somewhat higher for performance. The only differences I could see are that this is a 2021 model and has a mostly silver and black finish, and the “current” models released in 2023 are black with silver trim. Otherwise they are identical! Also, this model comes with 4 handsets and the current offerings with 3 or 5 respectively.I purchased this one (because, duh!), read the instructions, and set it up. I have Nomorobo and plan to keep it as it blocks about 90% of robocalls. My 15 year old Panasonic phone (which I absolutely love and is still working perfectly) has almost no features to deal with the spoofing calls that still get through, however, so I decided it was time for an update. This phone, in combination with Nomorobo, can be set up to completely silence and/or block unwanted calls. It uses my phonebook and cel phone’s contact list to allow wanted calls through, plus has ways to easily block or allow other numbers (and people.) It captures the caller ID info of blocked calls for later review so that any legitimate numbers intercepted can be allowed in the future. Some spoofed calls still get through, but I have no idea until I check the CID list. There are a lot of other features, so I’ll just leave it at that. Sufficed to say, there are ways to deal with nearly anything. So far it is functioning as intended and the call quality is excellent. I’ve had no issues except that the clarity is so good that digital compression artifacts are fairly noticeable. It has features to help with that, but I haven’t experimented with them yet.The range is good, but as others have described, not as good as some older models (mine included.) This is a result of constantly evolving technologies causing a need for older ones (in decline) to adapt to better coexist. My old phone operates at 5.8GHz/200mW and this new one at 1.9GHz/115mW. This change is to ”play nice” with WiFi and to be more energy efficient, but unfortunately means that it simply can’t perform as well as some older models in the handset range department. That said, for my situation, the performance hasn’t suffered (because my condo is fairly small.)(“ECO” mode doesn’t quite reach far enough to consistently “kick in” in my bedroom, so I purchased the recommended Panasonic range booster (model KX-TGA407) to correct that situation. For more information on that, check out my review of that product.)I wanted some back up handsets and realized that it is much cheaper to buy additional whole systems (ca’ching!) to do this. So that’s what I did.I realize that the current low price is because they are dumping the remaining stock of this now “out of date” system, but it really isn’t. If your OK with silver, get it while you can!

Complete, High Quality Phone System in One Box.
This replaced an existing Panasonic system that gave excellent service for many years. It can be up and running in just half hour or so. But if you want all the ample functionality of this system it will take some time with the comprehensive manual provided. Not complicated to follow manual just a bit time consuming. You can pick and choose which functions to activate.

Good product - good price
The product is easy to set up & functions as it should. The features are basic enough so my 85 year old mother can use it, but if someone wanted more advanced features like blue tooth or call forwarding, the system can do that as well.

Audio was insufficient, features were poorly planned and volume was hard to find.
I didn't like much about the phone. First, sound was faint and volume control nearly impossible to find. The BLOCK button was at the top, and easy to hit by accident. Some features appear to be mislabelled and "you can't get there from here." It's difficult to find some buttons for features. In addition, Amazon delivery left the system, which was only packed in its light duty retail box, on top of instead INSIDE my parcel box with rain impending. I received it soggy and with standing water inside on the merchendise. And since my entrance is ground level, no porch or protection, only a few feet from the sidewalk, a box showing it's a phone system is greatly at risk.

New in box - Keep units in cradles - Batteries not set for long time
Both our old Panasonic set (from 2013) and this newer replacement set run the batteries low if out of the cradle for more than a hour. I was stunned to see low-bat levels while swapping out the old for new system. They were flagged as powered off sitting on the table today. However, they were still displaying the menu screen and talking with the base ... so, keep them in the cradles unless in actual use. I had hoped to have a unit on my belt during a shift but that is not in the cards. Once the battery drains, it takes 7 hours to recharge.
